Mcmanaman was the big one to me!
Can u remember a great player who had a shit debut? Ferans debut was one of the worst i have seen. Hopefully not a sign of things to come.

Goater was shite for the first few games. He turned it around and became a legend.

Dunnie wasn’t great initially (whilst he was on the piss).
Michael Johnson’s debut we lost 4-0 to Wigan. He was decent after that (for a short period!)

I remember it well. I was in Cornwall on a break and some horrible twat was in the same pub as me trying to wind me up the whole match. I’m sure to make matters worse Steve Bruce was in charge of Wigan at the time.

As far as I can remember, Ali B got off a plane a few hours before and hadn’t trained with us at all. Keegan threw him in and he destroyed Birmingham. I remember sitting in the kippax thinking we have something special here.

Half the crowd didn't know his name, bloke behind me just said 'that number 44's alright'!
