I assume the OP doesn’t want Pep to remain as manager. The question I would then ask is what direction does he wish us to go down? A model of appointing someone, giving them time as the owners will trust in their judgement, and if things take a little while then so be it. Not unlike Pep, who in his first year here didn’t exactly have us as firing on all cylinders. Or dare I say Klopp, who took 3 or 4 years to turn an average dipper side into CL and PL winners. Give the said manager carte blanche to do as he sees fit and back him in the transfer market.
Or, do we follow a model of say Chelsea or Barca or Madrid or Bayern even, whereby the managers come and go and transfer policy is largely focused on the immediate needs without giving too much thought too longevity as what’s the point when there will have been another incumbent or two in the hot seat by then?
I suggest our owners are very much in the first camp. They coveted Pep for a long time, have backed him generously in the transfer market and we have reaped the rewards over the last few years. Can’t imagine for a moment they will dispense of his services any time soon.
Now, if Pep himsel jacks it in and resigns, that’s a different matter. Someone like Nagelsmann would fit the bill
