He was supposed to have been recovered from his head injury earlier this week.

And straight in to a full 90 with Portugal. Like the posters have said above - makes no sense.

And what’s with our players getting head injuries? Headbutting walls?

Every time they see Mendy's name on the teamsheet

OS not watching our internationals very closely, they think Garcia played 90 minutes - he was subbed for Ramos :?

Interesting that he literally came out and said he’s knackered from playing nonstop for two years. Why put himself through what is essentially a meaningless friendly then.

Beginning to wonder whether Laporte is made of glass.

He has a number of niggling injuries

I think I remember we were supposed to be signing him somewhere back around 2015-‘16-ish but didn’t go through because he broke his leg when just coming back from injury?......Possibly when we ended up getting the Mangler instead?

It does seem to be that way with Laporte.

Although early days, the good thing is that we now seem to have good alternative options at centre back with Dias and Ake so if Laporte is injured we can cover him more easily.

For the main man at Bilbao he missed a lot of games. Classy player.

To be honest, I don't think Laporte is fantastic. Never did.
What I liked about him is that he did not need any game time to fit right in our system, from day one he looked he was since ... ever here. A super important thing about that these days.

But he had his share of brainfarts along these 2 years since he came and I can't say 100% we were that shit last year because he got injured. I think it was because Vinnie left, another sicknote, but who knew how to bring the squad near him when needed.
His absence from the french national team is a big question mark alos, even if he had that thing with Deschamps.

Today's presser

PEP (On injured @fernandinho) A leader can be on and off the pitch. He can help us in different ways. The results were more optimistic so hopefully it will be shorter than one month. That's good for us. Being tough is good.

PEP Yeah, some of them (injured players) will be (involved against West Ham). Some of them, no. You will know tomorrow.

Apparently according to Pep - Kev and Laporte are back, Ake is close, and Jesus 7-10 days.

Not sure.... "He's not fully fit" said Pep before the the hammers game.

Hasn't travelled to Marseilles, let's hope it's just not match fit?
