This is the worst team we have ever played in the CL...absolute shite they are.

Two years ago we'd be 3-0 up with a cigar out

Amazing what adding some pace up front with a creator like KDB does.

Okay debbie downers. Sheesh

We've had plenty of games where we had a million chances and haven't scored.

I dunno is there a "finishing" thread on here or something? Maybe I am making things up then?

This 3 with KDB shows how much we've missed an injection of pace, confidence and desire to show their quality.
Foden and Torres definitely in that category.

Foden is brilliant. Amazing how he's basically turned into one of our best players when he couldn't even get a game last season for certain.

I wish I hadn't killed that fly now....was more exciting watching it buzz around the house with my cat hunting it than that boring first half.

I thought it was a bit better than weekend however we never seem to transfer our possession into goals lately, Sterling’s first touch let’s him down in tight situations. Ruben looks good to me.

Marseille defending better at the end of the half there.

Hard to find spaces to create anything if we are trying to attack in their own half.

I think one of the biggest issues with this well ogranised defensive strategy is we need a bigger physical striker who can head the football for goals, but is still technically strong enough to play in the side. I admit I didn't really believe this before but more and more I see the value.

Origi was that for Liverpool a few seasons ago, off the bench.

It may not net a lot of goals directly, but if we had a big striker with some technical ability that might lead to some more space inside / around the box if defenders are afraid of backing off too much or vice versa to mark closely if there's a good high cross which I believe I see us deliver plenty.

I think that may be the mystery player you need for our approach.

Delap could become this. Harry Kane, also because of his creative ability, is someone I'd think would really transform our attack.

Haaland and Mbappe are both brilliant. Haaland is more of the one for this, but I don't think we're getting either of them, sadly.

Boy do we need a focal point upfront.
Marseille are very poor.
A 2018 mancity would be 3-0 up.

Right. Well, Aguero and Jesus are out. Let's be real we don't have one right now.

That was years ago and clubs know how to defend us better as well, and we don't have all the same personnel.

hope that we up the tempo again went a bit slow again and passing sidewards and backwards, need to pass a lot faster and raz to take the player on instead of stopping and going backwards
