Rags v City pre match thread

Postby Harry Dowd scored » Thu Dec 10, 2020 5:27 pm

Doing close to nothing again so thought it might be a good idea to open the discussion of the derby. My thoughts are not positive at the moment, mainly born out of the monumental fuck ups by Pep last season. Fact we have lost three out of the last four against Ole and his rag army, for me that is untenable and must be corrected against what looks like a poor side with a inept manager, but we will see.
Has anybody got the ability to put a forecast of win/lose/ draw on the thread?

It's impossible to predict a result as its all down to his team selection and tactics.
Under normal circumstances this is a game we should be winning. But a lot of what we have seen so far is not normal.
So I am not brimming with confidence. Any old win will do.

United will trun up and be determined, motivated and a LOT better than they were vs. Leipzig ; if Pogba is selected he will turn up and be world class.

It will be a close, competitive, entertaining and very demanding game for us . We - including Guardiola - will need to be at our very best , and if we are , with luck, we will be equal to , hopefully better than them. Could go either way, no more than two goals maximum difference whatever the result. That's the only "prediction" you're getting out of me.

So long as Guardiola doesn't start getting scientific and clever and over-bloody-thinking and trying experimental "clever" tactics and formations , and picks the guys with the right stuff, we have a chance of getting something decent.

Saw this and thought it would get under the rags skin, so will put it on FB later to reel them in

As much as Pep needs to get the tactics right with no fcking about we all know that the match could well be won/lost in the VAR room and from the penalty spot. For this reason I wouldn't start Walker

If we turn up with the right attitude and team selection we fucking smash this shower of shite. Let's have it right. that's been my mantra for the past season and yet, the first leg of last years league cup aside, they've beaten us three times
Alarn bells were ringing in our last game against (not even) decent opponents in spurs whereby we were again raped on the break.
We simply HAVE to win this game no excuses boys. I fear controlled possession with no teeth up front though

From Pep’s Press Conference. Gundogan trained well. Fit to play. Sergio not fit to start, probably on bench. Garcia out for three weeks. Just in time for transfer?

The bookies have the rags at 3/1 and better, seriously tempted, if only to numb the pain.

Driving home from work the other night, Talksport had their bookie on with his special bet of City, Liverpool and Ajax all to win. Special odds of 9/2 instead of 7/2- maximum £20 bet. Sounded like the easiest £90 ever. Glad i forgot to do it when i got home, only we won.

Let’s get this absolutely right the rags are fucking shit , slightly better than a mid table team at best with the worst defence they have had in decades and a manager that is a yes man . It will take one massive fuck up from pep or VAR at its very worst to produce a result other than a comfortable city win . Rags have only won 6 games at the swamp in all competitions since no fans lockdown they are utterly shit .

Lots of dubious penalties and they have only played Spurs out of the top 6 I think ? Spurs won 5-0

Whilst I agree with your evaluation of the teams, you will need no reminding this shower of shit beat us three times out of four last season.

Torres Jesus Sterling

Pick this side and we will just win
