Thought fern, Foden and Jesus were good.(not taking corners into account for Phil), zinchenko and Rodri did ok too as did cancelo.

Mahrez stunk and how Alan Smith picked him as motm beggars belief. Was he in the canteen pretending to watch and having a beer with the crew? He cannot have actually watched the game.

I gave it fern

Fern did his usual stuff very well , breaking up play , tackling and actually passing the ball forward . A couple of class pieces of play from Foden , the finish of the goal and the cross / assist probably sways it for me .
Not really here

I went for ... Foden. Thought he was fairly poor in the first half but really came into his own when they started to tire.

This is exactly how I saw it as well. Jesus faded a bit, but was great in the first half.

Mahrez. Has to be Mahrez. So, so obvious. Why? Because that complete wanker Alan Smith said so. And he knows doesn't he? Former professional footballer, played at the highest level, knows all the nuances of the game, sees the subtleties us mere mortals don't. Oh, and did I say he's a complete wanker!

Fern all day long, closely followed by Foden on his second half performance.

Alan Wanker Smith can feck right off!

To be fair to Alan Smith, at least he went for a player on the winning side. Last game they gave it to a Saints player who, considering they were in the in form and home side, actually lost the game and weren’t actually that good due to our better play.
