Just before my time but do know that my Dad loved him as a player. Met him a few times in the Chairman’s Lounge and he was such an unassuming character, just wanting to have a chat and a drink with the old boys after doing the embassadorial stuff around the ground.

A real loss to us City fans, his name even brings back thoughts of late my father, but more of a loss to his family during these tough times which, I’m sure, all our thoughts go out to.
In the words of my Old Man, "Life will never be the same without Man City, so get it in while you can".

What dreadful news
I'm so glad I'm an old bugger and saw him play a fair few times.
Being a southerner, I used to go to all the away games in London and Southampton, and had the pleasure of being behind the goal at Chelsea when he scored THAT volley
A true legend, and probably still the best player I've ever seen in a City shirt.

The commentary by Alan Weeks. He was so surprised as it went in. No wonder, it was an extraordinary volley. 3-0, I think, the result.

And just when I hoped 2021 would be better - we lose a legend, THE greatest legend. RIP King Colin.

You're thinking of a different game, that one, which was a league match finished 1-1. We did beat them 3-0 at Stanford Bridge in the cup a few months later, where he scored twice. That's the one you're probably thinking of.

My absolute hero as a kid. I was there against Newcastle when he came on for the second half after 18 months out and I'd never heard noise like it.

Sad to hear of the passing of a true club legend. He was way before my time but well aware of what a player he was as my old man grew up watching him at Maine Road.

RIP King Colin

Some fantastic tributes in the media and Sky Sports News in particular shows the stature of the man Colin Bell . All that history from that golden era Colin helped achieve for MCFC. Apparently modern new fans bleat on we don’t have any history.........
What a world we live in today .
Not really here

I was stood behind the goal at Rotherham when Colin headed into the net, it clinched the second division for us and we were promoted, ran on the pitch after, I had skipped school in the afternoon and got the old north western coach to the game, can still remember those days I was only 14 but loved City and Colin.
We struggled the first year in the first division but won it the year after, yes before Leicester but we never got as much praise, Colin was the best I ever saw, worth two players on the pitch is energy and enthusiasm plus his skill made him the complete footballer, still very sad about this RIP Colin
