He could come in as a regular coach perhaps. That would be fine, but he's not supplanting Lillo.
Pep and he are very close and I think he may not want another person who will abandon ship when the chance comes to be a manager. It's happened twice now and I think he wants who he has.
Lillo is not going to be offered a job as a manager anytime soon due to his record and what seem like not so great man management skills. He's a tactician and ideas bloke.
Lampard is not a tactician anyway from what I see and hear. He's learning and has intelligence to succeed, but needs time. He was thrown in too quickly I think.
I also didn't really notice Lampard and Pep interacting in any way that showed they like each other enough for him to join.
The last time we played them it looked pretty chilly between them to me even if we did beat them badly.
