***Burnley v Man City Official Match Thread***

Postby City64 » Wed Feb 03, 2021 12:53 pm

All about the 3 points tonight any old win will do before a huge weekend for the mighty blues . Burnley FC seem to be heading into something of a crisis on and off the pitch so is it a good time to play them ? Tonight and next Sunday pivotal to our title ambitions, win both and we are sitting pretty for sure !

Agreed first of a series of important games this month. If we come out with maximum points going into Sunday's game, that should put us in a good place. Tricky tonight always is over there seem to raise their game. Start strong and get it done one game at a time

Tough game. We, for whatever reason, seem to be Burnley’s cup final and they are raise their effort and energy levels against us. But C64 has it spot on when he says if we win both our next two games then we will be well and truly in the driving seat.

A scrappy 1-0 will do but I think it could be a tad more comfortable than that

A recent American takeover of Burnley FC has gone badly wrong and for some reason the “football media” are turning a blind eye to it ? not surprising as anything American owners do in the PL is fine with our diabolical “football media “ .
So new American owners of Burnley FC “buy” the club then secretly take out £90 million to pay off a debt “elsewhere “ so basically they have only put £2 million into Burnley FC and the coffers are empty already ..............
Unreal !

Just had a read of the report from The Guardian and it would appear that Burnley have gone from having £42m in the bank and no debt to having debt of over £90m, with at least 2 more big payments due to the shareholders that are being bought out and interest payments that are owed by the club on the debt. Sounds very similar to the hillbilly "buyout" of the rags. Legal robbery, if so. Still, they're yanks so no trouble passing a PL fit and proper test!

Lovely -expecting to see more of this still to come in thePL perfectly acceptable as its what the red shite's owners have been doing forever and they're the benchmark of a respectable run football club - nothing to see lets all move on. Those dirty arabs however.....
