Nah . Pep went out of his way to explain he hadn’t got a clue what the actual proposals are , the same with Klopp last night . Listening to the absolute bullshit Madrid,s Perez is coming out with I believe pep 100 % . MCFC admin have managed to get a message out today and we are the first English 6 club to do so .

You really think Pep would have taken this so well if he’d only been told an hour before the statement got released? This is Pep. He’s probably the most important employee for CFG. If they did only tell him an hour before, he’s got every right to walk away. But he won’t, because he was told ages ago.

I believed him when he said he went to Bayern because he wouldn't talk to City as they already had a manager (Mancini). So if he says he was told about this three hours before the statement was released I believe him again. He has a track record of honesty.

Track record of honesty?! He literally says he’s “so so so happy” after ever my loss. Do you think he’s happy? He’s said Kolarov was one of the best defenders he’s coached. He’s come out with some absolute bollocks in his time.

He’s essentially said that the club don’t really value him or his opinion if he’s saying openly he only got told a few hours before. Which makes the club look really awful (even more so). He didn’t have to say that and he’s covering his back imo.

So Klopp was lying by saying he and his players weren't consulted too? Balderdash.

Contracts were made on the basis of given targets , goals etc bonuses . None certainly included a new ESL . All existing competitions are well known and active for decades.

Interesting

I wonder if contracts split domestic and European competitions? Or whether basically they are paid a wage regardless of the competition? The club may well simply say the ESL has effectively replaced the CL and if we remain in the PL then the contract remains the same.
Image rights however will be a different matter entirely especially if players dont get exposure in FIFA games for example

Of course an individual player may use this situation to secure a better deal for himself. That's then up to the player and club to agree/disagree. Makes you wonder how much agents such as Raiola knew about it with him pricing Haaland the way he has just lately. Figures of 500k a week were judged fantasy pie in the sky last week. Now it emerges that the founder clubs will be given huge start up sums just to participate, maybe a club will pay that.

It doesn't make me wonder about Raiola at all . Contracts are written and agreed with clearly defined options and requirements. Although most footballers can't read or even speak the English language in the PL , they get very good lawyers to go over their contracts.

Anyway this whole thing is plain stupid. Why aren't the accredited media outlets like the BBC , ITV going after that asre from the Rags, or the rags owners or Fenway owner for an interview to answer questions ?

As for that asre from Spain, Madrids Chairman , How do these buffoons get appointed ? "for the benefit of the game"
"Well I'll go to the foot of our stairs."

Exactly why isn't it us

The owners chairman are at risk of undoing a 10 year pr campaign here. Longer goes on worse we look.

Chelsea are playing today right? Are we at home tomorrow? I'm.keem to go down if others are?

Another PR own goal.

We all know the Americans are catalysts behind this. They put a gun to our head on Friday and I understand the difficult decision they our owners had to make.

Now that Chelsea are out. If we don't follow suit we are every bit as bad as the Americans.

Not sure what's happened, but Chelsea are in a uniquely precarious position - the club name and the freehold for their stadium is owned by CPO (Chelsea pitch owners) which is basically a fan group. Abramovich couldn't defeat them when he was looking to move to a new stadium, and if that dodgy git can't take them on then who can?

I've just had another radom thought.
Let's imagine the ESL goes ahead. Let's also imagine that the clubs involved get expelled from the PL. FIFA and UEFA and go their own way. What's to stop them relaxing the rules on performance enhancing drugs?

That post quotes Martin Lipton, here's Martin's tweet (bearing in mind he writes for the Sun):
Manchester City pulling out of Super League. City have told organisers they no longer want to be part of the £4.6billion scheme. Chelsea preparing documentation to also withdraw. Full details coming

Let’s see if Chelsea reportedly leaving the ESL is the first to go in a deck of cards and others follow suit in due haste. Or whether they have just had cold feet and the others will remain steadfast leaving a slot open for another club. Wonder if there’s a reserve list of clubs ready to step in?

Hopefully we will follow suit sooner rather than later
