Well that was quite a week. It looks like the chavs have not quite recovered from this week games (judging by the lack of comments). I would dearly love to see us win the league tomorrow night, in the evening sunshine at The Etihad followed by a short break to recover. After that who knows what will happen. As always, I just want three points, any way we can get it.

COME ON CITY!!!

Referee: Anthony Taylor
Assistants: Gary Beswick, Adam Nunn
Fourth official: Jonathan Moss
VAR: Stuart Attwell
Assistant VAR: Andy Halliday

Team Selection

Mendy
AC Silva Rudi
RJ Kante Jorginho Chilwell
Ziyech Pulisic Mount

And the rest..

Could have done with West Ham dropping points tonight... they just won’t go away, which worries me…As with the rest of them, this is a must win game, but it’s the game where City can secure the title, so it’s going to be very hard, especially off the back of the game on Wednesday!

my only concern is that if we lose to City, the gap between us and them opens up again (if Leicester win their game). It is going to be incredibly tight.

Hopefully we can get something against City, but it’ll be hard. I’d probably take a point if offered it now.

I would take that all day long. Not least, because I cant see us quite managing to beat them 3 times on the bounce.

Surprise surprise that United vs Liverpool game wasn’t either played on Sunday night (presuming the players & ref wanted to watch Line Of Duty) or last night, when both clubs were free. Gives Liverpool a nice game in hand to play with and means there’s no risk of City being on the beach come 5.30pm Saturday.
Wonder if we or Arsenal would have been given the option the have a week off to prep for an EL semi in the case of our owns fans causing a postponement? Don’t think so. Back to us, I’m guessing we’ll really need a minimum of 7 points now to secure top 4. But it’s tight and has been further tilted against us over the last 48 hours. Hopefully we can get something against City, but it’ll be hard. I’d probably take a point if offered it now.

I hadn't considered that angle. I was thinking it is advantageous for us since it will cause fixture congestion for Liverpool. There's literally no free slots between now and end of season. Every weekend and midweek is taken.

It does cause congestion, yes. But I seriously wonder if any other Premier League clubs essentially end up with the weekend off in this scenario (especially considering the fixture congestion you’ve rightly mentioned) other than these two? By full-time of our game at City, Liverpool go into their kick off with two games in hand on us and won’t have played for 14 days. Nice little break considering all of the games we’re playing this month and the remaining fixtures for both clubs
This is now a more interesting match as it will be seen like a dress rehearsal for the UCL final. Both managers will likley make changes and should be good one.

Would not be surprised to see a draw.

I would take a draw in this and could honestly see that happening. Both teams will be coming off a big high following the CL semi-finals and also both managers won't want to give too much away ahead of the CL final.

Cheers CM

Wholeheartedly agree with the sentiments of winning the PL at the Etihad and simply getting the three points any old how

Cheers, CM.

Anthony bloody Taylor. I hate that little shithead. Let’s hope he gets things right for a change.
Your right leg I like; I've got nothing against your right leg. The trouble is neither have you.

Still a long time til the CL Final, Plenty of time for a well earned rest before the journey to Istanbul, (the Falklands, Antarctica, Melbourne, Vanilla Park, or even Hough End Playing Fields, If enough brown paper envelopes can be found by the Manchester Council Parks Dept for Mr Teabag and his cronies in UeFA).

So v Chavs
We play our strongest team.
Play the 'Carnival Football' only City are cureently capable of.
Shove a dozen goals up the rent boys arses
Totally destroy them psychologically by ensuring they become aware that any inferiority complex they may have about City isn't a complex, it is because they are genuinely inferior to City.
Become Premier League Champions and make sure that the Chavs know we are Champions and the reason they aren't, is because they are shit compared to City.

Turn our attentions to the Prem Lge 2 and our under 18s. Just to ensure MCFC becomes the home of a clean sweep of Prem 1, Prem 2 and Prem 3 titles.

Agree completely. Get the job done today in style and put fear into them for the CL final. By the way, EDS already wrapped up the PL2 title 2 or 3 weeks back. Would be great to see the academy win their remaining games and wrap theirs up, too.

100% agree we need our best team out today, we have had an extra day over them.

We win then all our top players can just train for the next 21 days, let the likes of Doyle, Harwood Bellis, Netherlands, Delap etc have 3 premier league games experience and us said 3 games as a shop window for the likes Mendy.

As you say we have a choice to fuck Chelsea mentally and if we do, they could end up out of top 4, lose the FA Cup leaving them utterly demoralised going into chumps league final!

Not just this season either, it puts a marker against next season as I can see Tuchel being serious competition

Form and performance are mostoften defined by the mentality and performanceof a team of a team.,...and that in turn often defines results.

We have seen that particularlywith City in recent seasons. Our domestic mental approach was superb but we saw a fear factor in the later stages of the CL and our performance dipped and we lost out.

I agree totally with you that Hants that we are in a position where we can plant those seeds of fear into the Chavs heads and possibly affect their performances leading up toand including the CL Final.
They may be confident after their FA Cup win, albeit against a 2nd string City team. We have to ensure that they become mentally aware that the FA Cup result was only due to our 2nd string and they are nowhere near the level of our strongest eleven.

Should our U18s finish the job, that would be an amazing treble for City.
CHAMPIONS OF;- PREM 1, PREM 2 & PREM 3.
I wonder if that's been done before. Anyone know?
