As pointed out above, he was number 16 at the time of the QPR game, so I still think it's either a reference to the 10th anniversary, or a major design fail (not that it's a design success in any way otherwise). Has there been any announcement from the club about the symbolism, or is it all media speculation?

It’s been confirmed it’s for Aguero leaving - as he’s now number 10

As long as we win a pot or two I couldn’t give a shiny shit. Love it if the powers that be just for a season went back to the 1970s with the badge in the middle and white circular collar. And of course the black and red stripes for the away kit

Yeah it’s stupid. The 93:20 is enough if they want to do a tribute to him.

This is being banded about as the 3rd shirt. Looks more like a training shirt without the badge, which is apparently woven into the fabric. I'll reserve judgement till I see it.

I wonder why is it so difficult to go old school, just add Etihad there and you have one of the best shirts out there.
Loved when we played with the anniversary shirt in the Shield vs scouse. We looked magnificent.

I think in the 70s and 80s we had the best shirts, but a lot of teams had also.
They looked fantastic.

The 90s were odd shirt-wise.

The article says it's an April Fool's joke, but I actually really, really like it as a GK kit. Flamboyant, unique, and pays a nod to our heritage.
