Id rather we dumped double into mbappe. We never get linked there and only one year on his deal left. He could be the final piece.

Whilst I'd break the bank for this kid, there is zero chance of the qataris selling their prize asset to us

I'd take Kane for £100mil or less in today's market . . . any more then Levy can and should be told to feck off! Can't see Harland coming to us, interesting player but for me he has a bit of the Norman Whiteside about him and will struggle to play the game by the time he's 25/26 years old . . . hope I'm wrong on both accounts but I sadly doubt it . . .

I really really really don’t want Kane he has the look of impending donkey about him combing the worst of Rocky Santa-crud, Benjani and Darren Anderton (talented but crocked all the time).

For the first time in years my heart hasn’t really been in it with City. The CL final (and the manner it which is was given away) has broken the spell for me. If Pep can do that, unchecked, then what’s the point of planning anything or looking forward when we’ve got an inbuilt self destruct mechanism.

I hope I’m wrong about Kane and I’m slagged on here for ever doubted Baldy but in the words of Bolo “I gotta bad feeling about dis”

I feel this is a signing for Pep rather than the club if that makes sense, it's a short fix and lacks long term vision. Might as well kept Aguero, it makes no sense to invest that amount at his age. logic says Haaland, I don't give a shit about his agent, they're all greedy and we're no angels, let's stop using that as an excuse. For that amount of money, this should be about the club and not Pep, he'll be gone in a year or two and we'll be stuck with an aging possibly crocked overpriced aging striker.

Both valid posts re Kane and a quick fix that, longer term, post-pep could leave us with a player with crocked ankles taking up a place on decent wages. A swap involving Jesus or Sterling, I would consider but then we would be short up front for the inevitable injury.
Love this all to be paper talk shit and we are looking elsewhere, id take Lewandowski for a season or two instead of Kane if it's a stop-gap we are looking at whilst our target is available

This club is going backwards if we sign Kane for the sake of signing English. The club, maybe are doing this for publicity reasons hoping the media treat us better but I could care less. I really hope this signing never happens.

I don't think that is the case. Agree that the squad may move backwards but we don't seem to give two shits what the media think of us having, in the main, let them trot out whatever nonsense they have liked since the takeover. Again, I'm holding onto the hope that we have not seen anything attributable to the club that says we are in for Kane. The same as the Mesdi saga as it turned out

If true I'd rather put that money into a cheeky bid for Lukaku (as suggested in another thread about his and Kev's linking up).

People who are saying they prefer lukaku over Kane are having a bit of a piss take out of the thread in general right?

Well, people tend to compare Lukaku to his time at the rags, where he had to score from passes from Ashley Young, Rashford, Sanchez or Matic. And still, he scored a lot.
Also, he connects with Kevin really well.

Add to the list he is not injury prone and we might have something.
So yeah, he is the better option.

The only thing bad about him is he seems problematic.

We fell in love with Tevez

Tevez was never a proper Rag he was only on loan there. Lukaku looks strong, pacy & can find the back of the net. Agree a better and probably cheaper option, although we’ve been shafted before trying to buy players from Italy.

Based on performances at the euros then I wouldn’t touch Kane with a barge pole - nor do I feel comfortable with us splashing £100m on one player who hasn’t got many top flight years in them. I also don’t like up to 5 of our players being banded round like it’s Football Manager - I cannot see that Kane is that special we’ll reduce our playing number to suit, not unless we are embarking on major rebuild which doesn’t seem to be the case. As for Kane being English, then sterling mentioned as part of a deal surely says that cannot be the case.

Agree with the comment about Haaland - thought he looked like he was carrying timber on that video with Mahrez. Still offers more long term hope than Kane but it’s silly money for him also.

Notice how after Sky “broke” the news about a £100m bid that nothing else has happened

Does make me wonder if we have even made a bid at all for Kane and it’s a smokescreen for someone else

Tevez was a mercenary, even for us however much we all loved him. That said he always gave 100%
