Thats not correct. Carson is deemed home grown so wont affect the list, either will kane or grealish if they come. We have plenty of open spots on the non home grown list.

It is correct. Carson qualilifies as association trained but only 4 such players are allowed, which we already have. Carson can only be accomodated by taking up one of the 17 free squad slots.

That rule is for UEFA competition, and the rule is that you must have 8 "locally trained" players, which mean that they must have been at an English or Welsh FA club for 36 months between their 15 and 21 birthday. In 2019/20, we had only five locally trained so only had a 22 man squad.

For the premier league, there is no rule to reduce the squad size, you just have to have a minimum of 8 homegrown (which is roughly the same as a locally trained player)

The UEFA regulations (which require 3 keepers in the 25 man squad) are the ones which prevent us signing more than one player without one of existing squad being removed. We don't sign players just for the PL and currently Ake, Stones, Sterling and Walker fill all 4 of the available association-trained slots, the PL not making the distinction between those and 4 club trained places is irrelevant.

Im sure thats the plan and part of why aguero/nmecha are gone but it may not happen in reality for a variety of reasons.

Im prob in the minority but i never felt nmecha was at the level required when he played for us or preston. He may come good but i personally never seen it like the way sturridge or iheanacho did it for us when they came on the scene
