Of course he does. I reckon this might see kdb as a perm number 9/false 9.

I want and hope we sign someone great, but KDB as a false 9 can be his best position and can release our middle, the likes of Bern or Foden or even Sterling.

Why would anyone want to take the best midfielder we have and one of the world's best players and play him out of position to accommodate Grealish. Absolutely bonkers

He said no 9 can be his best position, so using that hypothesis anything else is playing him out of position. We sign Grealish to enable KDB to play in his best position. KBD is the best midfielder on the world, but imagine if he is better at 9. I'd pay 10m to see that, if I could spare it.

Grealish is a player that runs at teams. Against Southampton and the other teams that whack 12 behind the ball we seem to run out of ideas. He’s someone that would scare the shit out of them by being so direct.

Well we did it when we didnt have Grealish and it worked quite well. Kdb playing false 9 is independent of anything Grealish related. Personally i think when we play kevin in midfield esp against the bigger teams its too easy to cut through us, his press is wrong for that position imo(on some occasions leaving us very vulnerable). He either presses on his own or presses out of sync and makes us easier to play through. I prefer to see him as a false 9 taking up really dangerous positions that can hurt the opposition. I never really want to see him tracking back and being defensive esp since his injurys have hit. If you compare his body shape from centurion season(skinny and athletic) to how he is now(a little chunky) I think as he gets older he should move further up the field where he can do damage and not have to try covet every blade of grass. Leave that to the younger guys.

Don't want him at City, he is a serial diver . Not needed at all . Let him stay at Villa.

For me, Kevin is actually a false 9, more than a playmaker and or creative midfielder. There were many moments this year when our team played better without him, better said the players around him: Gundo, Bernie, or Foden.
I think he is a shadow striker or an old-school trequartista, think of Totti.

Don’t get the false 9 stuff as his best feature is defence splitting balls

KDB is probably best traditional 8-position player in the world. Can fi everything. Can he play false-9? Of course he can if needed. He could also be reasonable leftback or right winger. But I want to enjoy rest of his career seeing him play where is absolutely best in the world and could yet be one of the best ever category.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Looks like the deal is off, according to City Extra.
Did we really put all our eggs in one basket? Is the Spafia that daft?

We might go now into panic buys and teams will sure know how to milk it

Is he changing his mind? Or just using us for a better contract as many others have done.

Big swing with the bookies odds in favor of Grealish staying with Villa.
They usually get the inside info first then reflect it in the odds. If the talks were progressing as City expected he would be odds on to join us instead he is at evens.

Looks like he is not coming.

I appreciat loyalty, I think it's rare these days, what I don't appreciate is fucking around and pull out in the last minute.

Hope our Kane and Grealish pursuits end like they did with Koulibaly and we will get people like Ruby.

Lets be honest here - we don't need him do we ?

We need a striker and a left back........the latter being needed for the last few years !

Correct we don't need him. He would be a decent purchase but not for rhe money touted. We do need a striker and I'd like to think we have that sewn up. A left back won't happen until we get mendy off the books

People comparing him with Totti - with regard to him staying. Totti was still playing CL football for a team that regularly finished in the top 6. Villa fans are fuckin deluded

Grealish would improve us no doubt. Also he'll freshen up our attacking mid which has got a bit stagnant of late. Good signing and I hope we can push it through although the fee is stiff.

I agree don’t need Grealish and not at that price. Although I’m tempted by the attitude of just spending & sticking two fingers up the haters.

We are crying out for a striker if only to give us more options and as for a left back I’d sign one even if we cannot offload Mendy. Zinchenko does a job but should be an alternative to a solid left back not the other way around.

We don't need him same as we don't need Kane as we won the league comfortably without them.
However he would improve us massively the same as Kane would. He's an upgrade on Bernardo, a lot more direct and a lot more consistent. If we get the 2 of them then the rest of the country will go into meltdown. It would be great.
