Mr Mendy is charged with:
*Three counts of rape on a date in October 2020
*Sexual assault on a female in January of this year
*Raping a woman this week
He is also charged with breaching bail conditions.
Ffs - this week!???? Anyone with all the other stuff hanging over them might just think 'I'll try hard not to do anything rapey for a long while'

In a normal workplace that should be enough to get fired.
Football clubs are in a difficult place because if you sack deadweight like Mendy and then a star does it and doesn't get the sack it's horrible PR and the deadwood can likely sue. I think Derby had a situation like that a few years back.

If he broke bail conditions surely that means he’d already had his collar felt earlier than yesterday? Hence why he hasn’t been offered bail this time around. If that’s the case you again have to wonder why we didn’t hedge our bets on having cover at left back?

He has to be in breach of his contract surely? He isn’t available for selection through breaking the law. There can’t be many more clearer reasons for gross misconduct and thus withholding his salary. There could even be a case for termination of contract but that means we cannot receive a fee for him, but that could easily be a moot point as can anyone see us selling him in the event he is found not guilty?
At least we save on his wages from here on in
