Serious question on this: Because Mendy now needs a work permit to play for us, if he's remanded in custody when it's up for renewal, would he be in breach of his contract if it wasn't renewed, or is it solely the club's obligation to renew it, with any consequences of it expiring being borne by the club? Or is a work permit valid for the entire duration of a contract in the UK?

Foden isn't named in the CL squad because he still qualifies under the B list squad. So they don't have to name him until the day before a game. (I read this somewhere today.)
