I don't recall anything making the media until Mendy was arrested and denied bail. It then came out that there had been previous accusations and he had been questioned. Was he even out on bail when he is accused of committing another rape.

But the Greenwood "case" has now made the media, albeit via social media and the mainstream media have largely ignored it so far. Whether this is because he hasnt as yet been charged I dont know.
Whereas when the story broke about Mendy, he had been arrested already and it was everywhere very quickly and they were quick to vilify him.

Be gobsmacked if he played football in the top flight again. Even if a court of law, if it gets that far, finds him not guilty, the association with the images and voice recording will surely leave clubs at the top end of the table giving him a wide berth. Quite simply, sponsor’s will not like to be associated with him one bit.

Agree that he looked decent and had great potential. That has now gone.

In fairness to Rooney, sordid though his exploits may be, he's never been accused of anything like Giggs or Greenwood (to the best of my knowledge). That's like lumping several of our players in with Mendy.
