You are probably right Hazy. We must remember that nowadays, players are not simply footballers who fulfill a role on the pitch, they are financial assets that can become financial losses.
Should Mendy be found guilty, City will have lost a player and maybe more seriously for CFG, the value of any future transfer fee.

The best example of the rags pulling out all the stops to make an issue go away was the Rio Ferdinand drug affair.
Their tame media came out in full support. Even, ex City player Paulk Hince, the then City writer for the MUEN wrote a number of unforgiveable pieces, even linking City's Christian Negoui as an example for leniency. A case which had totally different circumstances.
The rags denied the circumstances regarding phone calls and fought long and hard with the authorities about releasing phone records. Records that when eventually they were forced to released showed that both the club and Ferdinand had lied consistently..
We shall have to see whether they fight as hard for Greenwood.

We should however never forget that we have currently only heard one side of the story and only media reportage of that. Greenwood, as does Mendy, remains innocent until ALL the evidence has been heard and only after an investigation has taken place.

I think it was Shalum Logan that was prematurely found guilty by both the social media and the public media. Later found to be innocent.

Serious potential to be a top notch player.

Now he's going to get it in the ass. And they won't ask him nicely first.

Yeah mate. Last year there were rumours he wasn’t in the England setup because of the incident you’ve mentioned.

Thought so. I wonder will that be revisited?

Rumours he had a girl handcuffed to a radiator or some shit. Judging by that audio and those pics I wouldn't put it past him.

Cannot be true as the scum bag board of that scum bag club have already stated that they "do not condone violence"....or maybe the reality is that they just ignore it.
THEY SAY SWEARING IS DUE TO A LIMITED VOCABULARY. I KNOW THOUSANDS OF WORDS, BUT I STILL PREFER "FUCK OFF" TO "GO AWAY"

Yes he is innocent until proven guilty.
But if he is found guilty I think professionally it will be extremely difficult for him to recover.
The landscape has changed in recent times. Clubs and sponsors will steer clear of him. The social media backlash and commercial hits will be to big. That includes the Rags trying to bury it - they will not take the chance even if they wanted to.
Already his fellow players are distancing themselves (ironically one of then being Ronaldo who has bought silence in the past) and nothing has been proved yet.

Like Mendy, if he is found guilty I will have no sympathy for him.

I think we pretty much agree on that.

It must be the lack of games that's making this site more agreeable.

He maybe innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, but after hearing that tape he’s a piece of shit that should have his career and life completely ruined.

Couldn't agree more.

He may or may not be found guilty in a court of law, if it even got that far, but what he has done is disgraceful regardless. He is a piece of shit who has abused his incredibly fortunate position in life. I dont care what his excuses are. For my money, firstly as a human and secondly as a father, what he did to that young girl was completely unacceptable within the boundaries of common decency.

Hopefully he will get the full force of the law and if not for whatever reason, hopefully at least his career will be all but finished and he can reflect where it went wrong

I have no doubt that he’ll get off with it. Like you say, what he’s done is disgraceful whether the court finds him guilty or not. I had to tell my mate to stop playing the recording because it was knocking me sick. The guy deserves nothing from this world for the rest of his life.

I would love us to take the moral high ground but let's not forget a creature called Mendy

Absolutely, I would be gobsmacked if he walks (Mendy), the chances of him being totally innocent has to be under 00000.1% police will have learned from what happened in the Ched Evans case and may be others.

Multiple charges involving multiple women something will have to stick surely.

Back to Greenwood, it is the person he was in a relationship with not some random from a night club or hotel room.

They can both rot in hell as far as I am concerned and their personal wealths distributed among charities who help victims of such vile acts.
