Three players have both scored and assisted tonight. That can’t have happened too many times in the CL knockout ties

Surely McAtee deserves to get on over Delap?!

Super win, only little gripe is I don't like Stones at RB. Against a better side that would be a problem.
On reflection cancelo and zinch as full backs or Stones at CB and Laporte LB, cancelo RB.
Both better options.

Couldn't really have hoped for better.
Win the first leg away 5-0. No injuries or suspensions.
As good as it gets

We now have 98 goals for the season so far. Looks like we are hitting our straps at the right time

Great win. Didn’t think it will be this easy, so an added bonus to an expected win. I was disappointed when Delap came on (and probably didn’t touch the ball) we had 2 corner kicks and on both occasions were taken short and never made it into the penalty area. These were 2 good opportunities to see how he performs in the air but alas were missed.

Good to see that they all understand what it takes and that they are hungry for it. Both mentioned the negatives but you could clearly see how excited they were for the win.

Pep even slipped up, inferring that we were already through before correcting himself.

Just got back after the game have to be on daft oclock flight so no beer after the game. Kept us in forever after the game and then put us on a metro that did not stop til it got back to their main square
Thought they looked dangerous early on down our flanks and Stones looked edgy but the goals killed them. Don't know why the fuck their fans waited for 87 minutes and then did what i assume is their party piece song perhaps they should have started at minute 1. Give them their due, they were applauding Bernie's goals. Good turnout and plenty of noise - think we may be going through to the quarters now

Sterling has 24 CL goals. Rooney is the highest scoring Englishman with 30.

I noticed on BT after the final whistle the commentator said, “that will be that, Liverpool………………….await Manchester City in the league”. Almost like he just wanted to mention Liverpool and then was thinking how he could fit them in the conversation.

Drove me mad all night. None of the fools seem to remember that we pissed all over Liverpool the last 2 times and were only cheated at Dipperland by incompetent refereeing not sending Milner off.

notice there’s a lot of love for last night’s performance…

I thought Stones done ok, bailed out the defenders on a couple of occasions in the first half.

First half in particular Cancelo was as poor as I have seen for a long long time in. A little better when he switched to the right.

It'svery easy for us to look at a result and consider "We battered 'em". We are fans and can simply celebrate a great win and big scoreline. The ever sensationalist media can do the same....everything is either super good or super bad, with no regard to the reality.

I think not being satisfied and always looking at the negatives, with a view to improving them is one of the major reasons we have been and should continue to be so successful.

It's about what we can control and the standard of performance rather than the result. Pep when questioned in his 1st season about a poor result v Burnley answered the criticism of the result by enthusing that despite the result, City's performance had been goodand the players had done everything asked of them, despite not winning.
The conclusion was that if the performance was right, the results would usually be favourable and titles would follow.

He aslo aid that losing wasn't always a bad thing because it was only from losses that City would learn what the weaknesses were and then they could be adressed.

Too many coaches, teams, media, fans accept the results as the measure and would consider the 2nd leg as a foregone conclusion. I like the way that the City metality is....How can we improve and do better.
