The View from The Posh

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

The View from The Posh

Postby CuteMancs » Mon Feb 28, 2022 8:30 pm

I’m looking forward to this distraction before the nerves settle in for the weekend. Apparently the pitch is in dire condition, so let's just get this done without any injuries. Would love to see a Delap hattrick on national TV! The home fans seem to be a decent bunch with the usual gallows humour.

COME ON CITY!!!

Referee: Andrew Madley
Assistant Referees: Edward Smart & Adrian Holmes
Fourth Official: Josh Smith

Team Selection

Benda
Knight/Edwards/Kent
Ward/Fuchs/Brown/Coulson
Burrows/Szmodics
Jones

And the rest…

2 games from Wembley. 3 from a possible place in Europe.

Blimey!

Cracking draw but we will get hammered.

Bloody citeh at home again….. getting fed up of this!

Christ it could be double figures.

City think they're special but Mahrez hasn't come up against a player like Beevers yet. Home win.

Great draw, city wont like it up em on our dodgy pitch, be a great night under the lights.

Was trying to think of Posh links with Man City: Blue Moon…David Oldfeild and Tony Adcock both scored hat-tricks for Man City before signing for us…Can't think of many recent signings, David Ball, and Paul Taylor was ex-Man City.

2 teams singing blue moon, because it's a man city song ffs.

Even the plethora of generally miserable .netters, that frequent this place with the sole intention to pour scorn and doom over all things Posh, cannot really complain about that draw…Although some will content themselves with a 'we are going to get mullered' type vibe, just to keep the status quo.

What a great draw, nothing to lose so just want to see London road rocking and us having a fucking good go at them.

City supporters won’t be used to being in a full stadium so it should be a good night for them.

Best draw we've had for years, nothing to lose, just need to go out there and give it everything.

If City get to ten they'll probably declare.

If Boreham Wood can beat Bournemouth Posh can beat City!

It's the FA Cup. Anything can happen.

Didn't Wigan as a Third Division team beat them in recent years - obviously they are odds on, leaving us chasing shadows and give us a proper spanking however if we can frustrate them and move quickly on the counter attack there is a small chance.

They put out a stong side against Swindon in 3rd round…If we can do at least as half as well as Swindon did, it will be a success.

Even if they make eleven changes it’s still basically a full strength side, such is the depth they have.

I also wouldn’t know the names or recognise most of the faces of those in the Man City team. PL really is of little interest…Anyway we have RJJ, Edwards and Burrows who will I am sure be household names in a few years.

Most posh players would struggle to he household names in their own house. Edwards is the only one on that list that so far looks to be able to go top half championship or above.

On Tuesday I watched City beat Porto 5-0 away in the Champions League, and on Wednesday I watched Posh 0 Reading 0…We've nothing to worry about.

Ladbrokes offering 33 / 1. I genuinely don't think I've ever seen such long (but realistic) odds for a football match before.

Is that for more than 10 completed passes???

Assuming there's no path to victory, here - and I doubt we'd be competitive against their u-12s - I'd love to see a few of their top players. Especially KDB, who is just wonderful…It would be the first time in my life I'd gone to a game in any way interested in an opponent (unless it's someone we've been linked with).

This…Foden, De Bruyne and Sterling are the three I really want to see. Seeing Guardiola do his thing, even against us, will be good too.

After the last 2 or 3 weeks I'm really struggling to give a shit about this game…We'll get battered if they bring their ladies team.

The club have been asked if Ukraine flags can be placed on all seats and handed to those in LRE…It is being 'looked in to' …Getting them in time is a big problem.

The poor electronic scoreboard is going to be in overdrive with all the goals. Will it cope?

Maybe if we are getting hammered they could put one if the other games on it to watch.

I'm not ruling out our vegetable fans chanting something awful at Zinchenko.

I think City will rest all there 1st team squad and play the ladies team that beat Man U yesterday.

**Guardiola:
"No, some knocks but today trains everyone. [Steffen] not yet, still in the gym, had a problem with his shoulder which is difficult for goalkeepers. We will decide the goalkeeper tomorrow with Xavi."

Wasn't sure if he meant they'll decide tomorrow who will play goalkeeper or whether they need one.

Decent comments there.

The last was my favourite about the need for a goalie. And the comment that a few of their players aren't even household names in their own homes made me laugh

Good luck to them. I hope we can go down there and give them a night to remember and enjoy.

Personally I hope we tear them a new arse.
The media would accuse us of being bullies and those posters from here that read the and listen to the media will have another chance to explode, whinge and moan about how we are not respected by those who are paid by those who are paid not to respect us.

I want 7-0 at least and probably another 7 in the 2nd half.
I KNOW THAT YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU UNDERSTOOD WHAT YOU THINK I WROTE, BUT I AM NOT SURE YOU REALISE THAT WHAT YOU READ IS NOT WHAT I MEANT

The Irony of that HDS is their stadium capacity is 15314 and their average gate is 7300 so not even half fucking full

I am just hoping it isn't fookin cow field like we faced against Wigan & hope to God there are no red cards either
