In recent years they've been self sufficient haven't they so waiving them has no impact on current finances

It’s like £2-3 billion. He didn’t spend that much pre-FFP surely? We’re not talking about £60m here and there. Prices were half that back then.

It's 1.6b isn't it? And he has built them a state of the art training complex hasnt he?

Ah is that what it is? I did think that about couldn’t just be on players. As an owner he’s been great for them. They’ll struggle to find an owner that isn’t just out to make money, like most of the American owners.

My worry is another American buying Chelsea and more votes in their favour when they try to move against us (and now the geordies)

That’s a point. London said Top 3 would be yank owned,I know Joe Lewis is British, however NFL links are established and well documented. The old guard scum Scousers would have allies.

A quick internet search gives scouse2's debt to Fenway at Approx 280 mill. Rags is up at , what , 500 mill . Chavs at 1.5 bill to Roman .

City are debt free .

No one will pay Roman's asking price of 3 bill and still not own the land the stadium is on.

Mount missed more sitters than Sterling last weekend!

James would be a perfect like for like replacement with Walker though.

Approx 16% of Rags total expenditure is spent on servicing their debt. For the first time ever the Rags are not been mentioned as the favs on the big transfers, for ex, Haaland. I assume this is because the dept repayments (and Glazer dividends) are beginning to really bite them now?

Re Chelsea, if it is a Yank buyer will they suddenly be loaded with debt to finance the purchase, a la Rags? Would that be ok with the PL and FFP? Sounds absolutely daft if it is?

Like i say , no one will pay 3 bill. That valuation is in Abramovitch's head.

They have a 1.5 bill debt to remove first .

They also need a new Stadium.

Key players are free to leave this summer.

These mythical valuations of Football clubs .

City 'apparently' worth over 2 bill.

Look at what our owners have done to the Etihad area! so many training facilities , etc

Paid 180 mill for City , now worth 2 bill , now that would be a profit on investment .

Roman didn't invest , he loaned money . The same mentality as the rags owners being loaned money.

It involves servicing debt. I'm not sure if Roman is taking interest payments .

Roman has wiped the debt though, so even though he loaned it originally it's now an investment.

I agree. It would be the death of the English football pyramid as we have always known it if enough Americans get their hands on Premier League clubs.

The debt was all part of the laundering of stolen Russian wealth. A perfect way to do it, right in everybody’s face.

CHELSEA FOOTBALL CLUB SEIZED BY UK GOVERNMENT

Assets frozen includes Chelsea FC.

Premier League was informed 15 minutes before it was announced.

The Government are putting in place a licence to ensure the club can fulfil its fixtures, staff and players can be paid, and as a significant cultural asset that it can continue.

This is about Roman Abramovich not being able to make any money or benefit from Chelsea FC.

Season ticket holders can still attend games they have tickets for but club can not now sell any more tickets that haven’t been sold already

The merchandise shop will be closed.

I think their licence can be varied to allow for that - this is what Cyrano Stone reckons
"What does the special licence mean for Chelsea?
Here are some of the key points from the special licence put in place by the government:

Chelsea are able to pay the wages of all employees, including players and coaching staff.
They can pay "reasonable" costs of travel to and from fixtures but not exceeding £20,000 per game per team.
Pay "reasonable" costs towards hosting home fixtures, not exceeding £500,000 per fixture per team.
Fans who bought season tickets or individual match tickets before 10 March 2022 can attend games.
Broadcasters can broadcast any fixture involving the club."

Government open to allowing Chelsea sale
Laura Scott BBC Sport senior news reporter (Roan clone)

Today’s sanctions against Roman Abramovich and the licence that’s been drawn up for Chelsea does, at the moment, halt any prospect of a sale.
However, the BBC understands that the government is open in the future to considering a licence that would permit the sale of the club, but that would have conditions so that the proceeds would not be able to go to Abramovich.
This is because they think the viability of the club is potentially best served if it is sold.

Until further notice only season ticket holders and those who bought tickets to up coming games purchased before 10th March can attend games. All other ticket sales stopped until further notice.

They are basically stopping any income to the club.
