I know Raz is a serial bottler in this fixture but I think his pace against their dodgy high line could be important.

Keep Raz well away from starting 11 for me. Bring him on when we are 3-0 up

Raz has rarely sparkled in this fixture I agree but Pirlo Trent is such an inept defender it would be a shame to not expose him - maybe Jack could oblige though ;)

Anyone wanting Sterling to play against Liverpool really want to have their faces slapped , over and over again , until they come to their fucking senses .

For fucks sake !
THEY SAY SWEARING IS DUE TO A LIMITED VOCABULARY. I KNOW THOUSANDS OF WORDS, BUT I STILL PREFER "FUCK OFF" TO "GO AWAY"

Sterling wont play. I think even Pep has realised he wont show up against them.

On paper his speed is an asset in this game, but he never delivers against them and no amout of wishful thinking is going to change that.

This is the point, on paper it makes sense, a lot of sense.
VVD has lost half a yard and Liverpool are playing a very high line.
Sterling can get in behind them easily and he keeps Robertson on the back foot.
He started in the 1-4 and the 4-0, scored in both. This match is at the Etihad not Anfield.

I won't be upset if I see his name on the team sheet provided it is Mahrez that he replaces.

What can Sterling bring to the table except lose possession and run into Arnold?

At least if he plays, he should be on the right.

Pace, assists and keeps Robertson in his own half.

I think the only way he'll play is as the false 9.
I reckon it's Grealish and Foden wide.

He has pace, but he needs to cause trouble, not lose the ball.
I think based on the previous encounters, Phil should play on either left or right.

Grealish looked really solid versus Wank Bisaka, for example.

To be fair to Sterling and his performances against these -

- He should have had a penalty against them when Milner took him out literally on the goal line
- He got us the pen at Anfield, I think a Gundo missed it?

It’s at City and not Anfield so he shouldn’t feel the heat from the crowd too much. I wouldn’t start him though, I’d go with Grealish, Foden and Mahrez. We need to keep hold of the ball, we can’t have players losing it and them countering us. And those three players can keep hold of the ball well.

I forgot it was at ours - he might start then - toss up between him and Grealish. With a view that one can replace the other easily in the same role if needs be.

with respect to VVD and injuries. The fact is that when Liverpool have come under pressure defending, they have been poor . VVD is a row Z merchant, i watched their last two Pl games and he , without any stress , made long passes to players that were either overhit or badly directed.

For some time now they have not been stretched at the back. On Sunday i expect them to play 10 defenders hoping for the kick forward to the Salad.

For us the only defensive change that would make sense is to have Walker breathing down Salads neck. Cancelo can do his magic on the right too.

If the start Sane.

What Laporte and Rodri need to understand is that if the clever midfield pass is not on to put the ball back to our best midfielder , Ed .... and be patient.
