30 mil? Are they taking the piss or another favor?
He's in the last year or his contract. His market value is around 50m euro, so 30 isn't a bad deal.
There are reports circulating that Barcelona will have a
negative salary cap next season. In theory, this would mean players would have to pay to play for them. However, in reality, there's a clause in the salary caps that (if I understand it correctly) means teams can spend 25% of any savings they make (this is regardless of the negative sum). If that's right, just to match Jesus's current salary of £90k per week, they'd have to shave £360k per week off the current wage bill.
Of course, as we've learned from Barca's recent transfer dealings, there's nothing to stop them
signing him, it's
registering him that's the issue...

We need to shift sterling, apparantly barca would take sterling for 50 mill, so why not sell. A year or two ago i argued we could demand 100 but im bored now and last year of his contract

£45 million according to transfer market, which is around 54m euro.
https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/gabriel-jesus/marktwertverlauf/spieler/36320530m is a good deal as he's less than 12 months on his contract

I think he'll go for around 50m odd. I get the impression Pep's lost patience with him and wants him gone.
Although if you believe the shite they print in the media, it's all the other way round, and Stirling is at the top of his game and is unhappy with City.

I for one am getting mightily pissed off with this "stepping stone to Real" narrative.

Ian Nacho was sold for £25m years ago. We sell Jesus for anything near that and we’re stupid.

Could be wrong here, but is this narrative put out there to pacify the red shirts?

Aguero used us as a stepping stop for Real. Every single summer. To the point every time the press said he was going I laughed.
It’ll be the same for Haaland. If we do get him he’ll stay here for years.

Agree Mase and there isn't anything to say we won't put our own ridiculous clause in the contract making it hard for him to leave....

That's true enough.
Every summer there were two headlines you could guarantee.
"Real prepare swoop for Aguero."
and
"United will challenge this season."

He's not going to sign another contract, so we're never going to get top money for him as he becomes a free agent in a year.

His current market value (transfermarkt.co.uk ) is £45M, it was £54M in December & as high as £72M back in 2018!

From looking at other market values of players on the site in the past, I think the market value on transfermarkt takes into account length of contract remaining. However, if that's the case, it doesn't take into account the fact that a contract will expire before the next transfer window. So it's a bit of an odd algorithm.

Rumours have it Jesus leaving in the summer. I can see it happening with the arrival of Alvarez and Haaland.
I think one of the three; Jesus, Sterling or Mahrez could move this summer.
Who would you want out of the three?
Thoughts?

Jesus and Sterling to go for me.
dont forget we got Grealish last year and it could be agued we didn't really need him if we hadn't shifted someone out.
So we are surplus one anyway imo.

I think Gabbie J is almost certainly gone, I believe he wants to be a striker and we want him to play out wide (with 'better' striker options available to us next season). I'll still miss him when he goes though. Wouldn't mind too much if he hooks up with Arteta, as long as he doesn't play a blinder against us.

What's this going to do to the proposed Haaland transfer I wonder.

Go through a lot smoother I would imagine. Haaland senior had a big part in the negotiations.

And no massive 25M fee to pay, especially IF the deal is all in place.
