A double whammy, as it would piss off the rags mightily, and Carl wouldn't need to change his baldie tag.

I wonder if this serious or a play to 'influence' the rags a la Fred ?

Probably the latter.
City seem to be making a habit of it, and it's not just Fred.
I believe they did the same with Pogba, Sanchez, Ladyboy and Slabhead.
The best bit is that the rags never learn.

To be fair to them thay have learnt how to become a joke club.

I can think of 3 reasons here that depend on what City think of Haag
1. City think that Haag might decide to go to the rags and are throwing a curve ball to upset that and make him rethink.
2. City already know Haag has rejected the rags and are just rubbing it in and takng the piss.
3. City have determined that Haag is definately not good enough anyway and are playing the rags into quickly signing him up

Just been appointed apparently

so that takes number 2 in my list out.

Looks like we may have been trying to scupper the deal - or he is shit

The BBC with a story of how he is the first manager since Ferguson that the opposition will fear. Brilliant

Oliver ( the cunt) Holt on his anti city rant again : -

OLIVER HOLT: Manchester City's complicated pursuit of the Champions League is layered with resentments, jealousies, suspicions and ambivalence... but their dream to be one of football's great powers will not be fulfilled until they capture it
Man City's bid to win the Champions League hasn't been an unabashed romance
It has been marked by City fans booing the UEFA anthem and turning backs to it
However, don't let anyone tell you that they don't care about winning the trophy
It is the last obstacle preventing them from being a footballing superpower
Pep Guardiola's failure to win it since leaving Barcelona is also a gap in his legacy

I didn’t put a link, because I don’t want this cunt getting any more clicks

Anyone doubting that the red shirt shills in the media will stand by and allow Newcastle to become another City should read this by Oliver (the cunt) Holt - :

Saudi's sportwashing is truly cynical

Saudi Arabia's takeover of Newcastle United is already playing out like the perfect blueprint for a sportswashing project.

It is no coincidence that the Saudis, like the Emiratis at Manchester City, chose a club down on their luck, gripped by a historic sense of injustice, desperate for success and eager for the promise of investment into a neglected region.

And now Newcastle are rising up the table, led by a fine manager and fuelled by good signings, the rewards are rolling in for the Saudis. They have cultivated swooning Sky reporters and supine local newspapers, who had to be brought round with smelling salts when some of the owners kicked a ball around the pitch after their victory on Wednesday.

The fans are so grateful to be out of the Mike Ashley era that most don't care where the money comes from. So already, a regime that murders dissidents, massacres civilians in illegal wars, executes criminals and oppresses minorities, is being held up as a force for good.

If the cynicism of the sportswashing weren't so sad, you could almost admire it.

Can these BBC Commentators get their act together ???

Pat Nevin ffs !

Chavski game:

Chelsea 0-0 West Ham

Alistair Magowan

BBC Sport at Stamford Bridge

Much of Chelsea's good work is coming down their left side as Marcus Alonso teams up with Timo Werner, but their right-hand side has been sorely lacking. A day when the value of Reece James increases without even taking a touch.

The home supporters are getting a bit frustrated with this.

Chelsea 0-0 West Ham

Pat Nevin

Former Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

What is noticeable about Chelsea when they've got Reece James and Ben Chilwell, how much danger comes from those areas. How many crosses have come in from the right and left from Chelsea so far?

None from Ruben Loftus-Cheek, maybe one from Marcos Alonso?

Dietmar Hamann has claimed that Manchester City-bound striker Erling Haaland has been “disrespectful” to Borussia Dortmund.

He once signed for Bolton and then decided he didn’t want to play there actually and moved to City before he’d even kicked a ball. Pretty disrespectful.

Adrian Durham stirring it on Talksport.
Describing Liverpool as lucky team and they get all the decisions at Anfield. Using the penalty decision against Everyone as an example of their 'luck'.
At least it makes a change to hear someone call out what is going on with Liverpool.

At least somebody noticed - if you head the ball onto your own arm it's no penalty
