View from the Away End

Postby CuteMancs » Sat May 07, 2022 10:36 am

The Toon Army has very mixed emotions about this game. I am hoping the team are on the beach currently and it’s now all about next year. I’m more worried about how we are going to manage after Wednesday. I guess it’s time to trust in Pep and all the team to pull it together now more than ever. I have not been able to go to the last few games, but I think I am going to force myself to go tomorrow to give my support. If you hear of a medical emergency in the East Stand, it will be me!

COME ON CITY!!!

Referee: Stuart Attwell
Assistants: Constantine Hatzidakis, Neil Davies
Fourth official: Anthony Taylor
VAR: Jarred Gillett
Assistant VAR: Nick Hopton

And the rest…

99% certain we won't win. But just as I said before Liverpool, if it is a defeat then I'd like it to be a narrow one. Unfortunately, I don't think this one will be. Still, could be worse... we could very well have been in Everton's position.

We could play alright here and still be blown away. Comfortable defeat: 3-0.

I'd absolutely love to beat these. Fucking arsehole club.

Reslly? I always admired Man City , fans always stuck by them in division 3 , can’t really begrudge them this success? Odd comment tbf

I hate this fixture, always an horrific watch. I would like to think this is the last time for a long time that we go into a match expecting a battering and 20% possession.

I’m happy for us to roll over for these so livershit don’t win the league.

Think we'll go for 5 at the back and leave ASM up front on his own.

This will be my 4th visit to the Etihad and I've seen us lose there every time, fully expect the losing run to continue unfortunately. Decent beers in Manchester at least.

Not really arsed about this. I don't like losing, but at the same time I don't like helping Liverpool.

Really don't want Liverpool to win the league so we'll probably win this.

Get into the bastards! Kick them while they're down.

Well they’ll be angry now. Only the league to focus on…5-0.

Let's hope they're still demoralised and jaded from tonight, if they come out fighting they'll destroy us.

#Backlash

If we wanted a chance to get something from this fixture, this is it. They will be no where near their normal level as they'll be completely deflated. You don't get over defeats like this quickly.

I’m looking forward to the away end after tonight

Legit couldn’t say who’ll start for them.

I think they’ll be the opposite to feeling sorry for themselves and absolutely annihilate us now.

Carnage.

My mate has just made me lol by saying City clearly need to sign that guy who looks like Todd who shot that kid in Breaking Bad. Not an exact match, but instantly knew he meant Haaland.

Unfortunately, even if they turn up tired and a bit dispirited, they still have enough to beat us comfortably. It's very difficult to get the ball and retain it against them. They strangle the opposition.

Can see 6 or 7 here. Wrong place, wrong time.

we'll not get beat. unfortunately it'll hand the scousers the title.

If Wilson and Trippier come back in this could be really tricky for Man City. Imagine if Pep slips up here after what happened in Madrid. Yikes.

Not ashamed to admit I don’t mind City winning this one, really don’t want Liverpool winning the league . Same goes for Burnley last game of the season if it means Everton go down.

I’m fully expecting a massacre here but safe in the knowledge we’re still on the way up.

Conceded a goal in the first 15 minutes in each of the last 4 trips down there.

Liverpool fans thinking... "vulnerable Man City.. Newcastle might do us a favour here." The reality... Newcastle fans hoping Man City don't set a new record win in anger from the midweek result.

Hope we lose.

Hope we stuff them and then win our last two games. Would rather City win the league but not by us losing. Don't get this attitude that would rather see us lose so that Burnley don't get relegated.

4-0 City me thinks. This might be the weekend the title is decided. Spurs are playing well and fighting for fourth atm so a point would be a good result for them vs Liverpool.

Can't stand bin dippers winning the league, so **** them. I reckon it will be similar to the previous one, City to dominate and we'll pose no threat going forward.. 1-0 to City.

We are on the proverbial beach, Eddie won't say it, but we probably are, and it's fine because of what's already been done. All about next season now.

Cheers, as always, CM.

They seem reasonable enough. They will start to see that we are not the bad guy we have been painted when they start challenging the red shirts for the top 4 places.

Come on, City. We need this one.
Your right leg I like; I've got nothing against your right leg. The trouble is neither have you.

“Not really arsed about this. I don't like losing, but at the same time I don't like helping Liverpool.”

The reality. But according to BBC all neutrals want Liverpool to win.

Fair play to the majority, but this cunt.... is either getting in early on what will become a rivalry IF they manage to achieve what we have over the last 14 years or is just a thick as fuck geordie.....

Cheers CM.

As usual most fans of the opposition clubs hate the dippers and are happy for their team to lose so the dippers don’t win trophies.

Think we will see a response from the players like a good number of Toon are predicting

Have some good memories of visits to St James Park over the years.
Geordies were usualy pretty genuine, except for the stupid few that infects most clubs.

I don't think City players will feel demoralised after Madrid. They have suffered defeats inthe past and have always seemed to stand up well wnen they have been knocked dow..

It's all they now have to play for and I can see our lot giving their all to get the job done.
Big score? That will depend on whether we still suffer fron the sken eyed disease that has infected us for the last few years. The same disease that sees us create chance after chance that we fail to cash in on.
Think the fans will be an imprtant factor today too. Loud and proud will help cement the right battling mentality to the players, Down and quiet could transmit the wrong energy to the pitch too.
I KNOW THAT YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU UNDERSTOOD WHAT YOU THINK I WROTE, BUT I AM NOT SURE YOU REALISE THAT WHAT YOU READ IS NOT WHAT I MEANT
