Not to be negative after a great win but I was also frustrated by Sterling and Cancelos crapness, imagine we are chasing the win and they were playing like that? Crap hats

Anyway - one game at a time come on city this weekend

What is that now? +7?
Good, yesterday they were pushing the agenda of a "39 game of the season".

But still, Wolves and Soton are teams that can help those murdering criminals comeback in the goal difference sector.

Matchday threads will be more harmonious when Sterling leaves. I dont dislike the guy, he's time is up and new challenge will do him good. We either promote within or find a young pacey winger to replace him. Personally, I'd promote Palmer, but, we could do with raw pace

A great win and a team effort. All the players contributed positively in the same way as they all made mistakes at some point. Some people can’t see the positives (or maybe refuse to) in certain players but I am sure Zinchenko and Cancelo appreciate the defensive runs Sterling makes to track the attacking full back, for example, and the extra protection it provides.

Apart from the obvious, I enjoyed Gundogan’s performance particularly.

Two more wins, Blues.

Pretty much how I feel. I used to love the guy and was one of a very small number on here that defended him years ago. But he can’t continue after this season.

It’s not just Sterling. There’s been far too much negativity about Laporte. He’s had a very good season. I hope he’s fit to play on Sunday.

Never been too negative about Sterling and I have no doubt he receives alot of unjust negative press and abuse from fans - including our own , but he does waste a significant number of chances. He should have had z couple more last night. That said there's a few more that should have scored but we did win 5-1 away, so I should be happy.

Sterling isn't good enough for final stages of champions League, I could forgive him when he had raw pace which compensated for his abysmal finishing. He isn't a bad player, he's certainly not worth 300k a week or whatever he'd demanding. Would Palmer do any worst? I would like to see our academy players promoted and developed further. Keeping Sterling wouldnt do him or Palmer any good, it's obvious he will not be a regular starter under Pep.

It escapes the haters' notice that (apart from scoring his own) Raz was directly responsible for creating all the other goals last night. It takes a sustained repression of the intellect to overlook his pivotal role in the our best attacking combinations.

He contributes in lots of other ways, too. If he didn’t, pep would never play him and yet still he does. And we keep winning.

Sterling,s contract talks have stalled for a while he is obviously looking for alternatives. He is getting worse by the season and probably two thirds of city supporters are fed up with his glaring misses and losing the ball . Best all round he moves on , he owes us nothing !
Cancelo is an average defender BUT has an enormous engine getting up and down the pitch relentlessly and create,s so many attacking opportunities that causes any opposition to shit themselves. You have to take Cancelo for what he is and he fits perfectly into peps system and will provide endless opportunities for Haaland in the coming seasons.
Not really here

Some fans just cannot seem to analyze the negatives and those fans who do mention them then the happy clappy club start bitching and crying about it!!

If fans think Sterling deserves an extension on his 300 k plus salary and he keeps the likes of Palmer out of the game then there's nothing more to say.

We had 9 excellent players on that field yesterday and 2 very poor ones...if you want to focus on the 2 or 3 good things they did and ignore the other 97 things they did wrong..then fine...pointless debating it.
THEY SAY SWEARING IS DUE TO A LIMITED VOCABULARY. I KNOW THOUSANDS OF WORDS, BUT I STILL PREFER "FUCK OFF" TO "GO AWAY"

Blinkered self-fulfilling prophecies 'r us

OK lets take my blinkers off……First goal: not involved at all, he did make himself available for a square pass, but thank the lord Kev scored himself.
Second goal: A gorgeous through ball by Kev, Sterling completely missed the ball which took their goalie by surprise and he parried into Kev’s path, so Sterling basically fucked up and Kev mopped up
Third goal: I suppose you could call this an assist, but again it was Kev who took the ball after Sterling was fouled trying to unsuccessfully turn the defender….I’ll give you that one simply because he was directly involved but knew nothing about the “assist”
Fourth goal: Well, it was a poor pass from Foden which was behind sterling but the ball fell into Kev’s path with no assistance from Sterling
Fifth goal: Literally on a plate for him after his previous misses
Their goal: Didn’t see him tracking back for that one, Cancelo was doing his usual lolloping too.

So my unblinkered observations are that just because he’s in the vicinity of the goalscorer does not render him “directly responsible for creating all the other goals”, he was basically fucking up but we had our genius Kev to clean up for him on the night. As I said earlier, he was brilliant for us a couple of seasons ago, but whatever he had then has gone and as far as I’m concerned, and I have no axe to grind with him, he seems like a nice lad, on the pitch he hasn’t had a scintillating game for the last two seasons. Call me a wanker or blinkered or an abuser, I give not one fuck……..it’s just my opinion and I’m expressing it which is the whole point of the thread.
