The statues

The statues

Postby dazby » Sat May 14, 2022 11:00 am

A question for those who have been up close to them. Do they look like who they are supposed to be?

I of course have only seen the videos but I don't think they are much of a likeness. The bodies are fine enough but the faces. The faces. They aren't spitting images are they? Or are they?

eye of the beholder Dazby, don't think the Aguero sculptor can have been a City fan tbh - looks like Robocop

They’re not great tbh. The ones at Arsenal are spot on. These look like they’re made out of crap metal.

But who is getting the deals? Do we see a model before accepting it?
It reminds me of Ronaldo's statue in Madeira.

It’s the one thing the rags have done well this season

The statue of Maguire, which is on the pitch at the swamp, is incredibly lifelike……

Kompany and Silva look ace up close, especially when its a night match and they're under the glow of the blue lights.Hoping the Aguero one is the same.

The photos and videos don't do them justice. I was seriously underwhelmed by them until seeing them in the flesh.
