Just watch MOTD, at least Shearer mentioned the players we had missing, the first time I have heard reference to our decimated defence by any media outlet.

Seeing as how nobody thought Laporte would make the game he handled himself really well especially as he had Fern next to him who looked really uncomfortable and Zinch who defensively was shocking.
No way he'd have been 100% fit either but he played same as Walker in Madrid. Stones wants to take note.

Walker reckons he might make next Sunday, commendable approach!

As much as I give him heat, he was the only one decent from our back. When Eddie came like an idiot and almost cost us a goal, I remember him gesturing what we all were feeling.

Id like to know what the fuck is wrong with Stones. Fair play to Laporte, im a critic of his mostly but he did well playing in that defensive shambles

Did that great block as well when it was 2-2 and it looked like Bowen's hat trick.

Everyone slags off Zinch’s performances (including me ) but it’s Peps fucking fault he’s playing there instead of his natural position - Zinch is a midfielder, for fucks sake ,and not a fucking defender. This whole not buying a fucking left back is down to the manager and it is one of the reasons we concede goals - noone should even argue the fact .

Makes my blood boil that we never addressed the LB position over the years .

Could he have predicted Bendy's decline after injury and subsequent events? How difficult is it to replace him until the outcome of his trial given the wage/contract implications?

He’s had a fair few years to realise Mendy isn’t up to it! It’s not exactly just been one transfer window has it?

Predicted ? How many transfer windows have we had to replace the lump of shit that is mendy?

Who did we buy in one of those windows ? 100 million for a player we don’t need .

It’s not even arguable JC .

He started our first two games this season before he was arrested in August which indicates he was intended to be part of the current squad. I think replacing him in January probably wasn't an option.

We've not had a problem at full back until now as Walker and Cancelo have been very consistent in the main despite some of the shit Cancelo gets on here.
It's only since the Walker injury we've suffered.

And now we’re seeing what happens when you don’t have a genuine backup LB. Should have been sorted years ago!

Yo do not need to be a specialist LB to play offside. Laporte holds the line don’t drop off like a school kid. Zincs fucked up a simple thing twice.

A few brain farts cost us the win but we go again.
