We are talking about media and living in weird world, but we point at fans that express their concern and call them negative because what? THEY CARE ABOUT THE CLUB?
Why the fuck would anyone be concerned if it's not about being better, moving forward and win the fucking league?
Imho, if we win the league on Sunday, it will be our worst winning display in the new era. I will celebrate as always, but I will know that we were far from our best, that we are at the end of a cycle and some players fucked up big time. It's not being negative, it's not going into meltdown, it's just expressing my concerns regarding the club I love.
I am not the type that Shrugs his shoulders and moves on when we lose by shooting our own foot on multiple occasions.
If we win the league on Sunday it will be our 3rd best winning display in the new era.
2018 100 pts, 2019 98 pts, 2022 93 points with a win.
Yep, but gamewise, IMHO, not our best since the winter break. This last few we were good, but we looked off in many moments the whole season. Lacked the hunger, won it because of how good we are, if you ask me.
We've become accustomed to a certain level of football. We are blessed.
Maybe, therein lies the problem mate.
Not that we have become accustomed to a certain level of football but that we now demand a certain level of football, every week, sometimes twice a week for long periods and we demand that level to last for the full season.
It has never happened in the history of football.
No matter how successful any team, any season, they have played between a top level and a lower level. The lower level of the top clubs usually, but not always, higher than the top level of the lower clubs.
We have been the most successful club in the Prem over the last decade but each season has its highs and its lows. We have started poorly, then gone on long runs of success. We have dipped in the middle of the season and come good again...that's the way it is and aleways has been.
Any dip in that top level is hammered by fans with little or no consideration of the situation at the time. The Wet Spam game was a prime example. We have just finished a run of the hardest games we have had to endure fo a long time. We looked leggy and lacked the necessary energy in the 1st half, but it was the mental strength of our players that lifted them to fight back to the end. That should be applauded. We have a team that may lose but we knbow that they are always up for the fight. The Madrid loss could have destroyed us, but it didn't, we came back a couple of days later and battered the life out of Wolves.
Add to that, we played a very good Wet Spam side who had something to play for and they resally did play for it. We played that very good well rested Wet Spam side with little recovery time, little preparation time and with a makeshift defensive line comprising some players who were obviously not fully fit or out of position.
That's a game we really were set up to lose.
There is an ol saying that "Britain didn't win WW2, it just refused to lose it." That mentality is embedded in our players. It is a major reason that no matter what the level of our performance, we will always fight to the end.
