Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Gundogan. Yeah.
Your right leg I like; I've got nothing against your right leg. The trouble is neither have you.

Now isn't the moment to debate players who should leave.

But I would hope Gundogan stays. There are others who should be ahead of him on the list of players to leave.

He's not a guaranteed starter but generally always does a good job for us when played in an attacking position. I hope he doesn't want to leave just yet.

I think he confirmed he is staying

"I know it's tough to say, but if Liverpool wouldn't be there and play the way they play, very successful, this league wouldn't be that attractive," Gundogan told Sky Sports.

"Even though they finish just one point behind us they play an incredible season. They push us to the limit, it's a sad day for them but we need to appreciate what they've done and especially my former coach.

"We look forward to competing with them next season."

Thing about guys like Gundogan is they just get on with the job of playing football, never hear of any moans/complaints, he is a role model for younger players, ultimate professional, hope he stays

I’m pretty confident Jesus will leave, I can’t see a future for him next season except as an occasional squad player. Understandably he wants more than that.

If Gundo wants an extra year would it harm us giving him until 2024 with his last year in a part time coaching role as well?

Over the last few years, we have lost a number of 'irreplaceable' World class players through the ageing process; Yaya, Kompany, Silva, Aguero, Zaba and now Fernandinho. It wasn't just their silky skills that they took with them, they also took their knowledge, their experience and the important roles they played around the squad helping to intergrate and bring on younger players by the example of their ultra proffessionalism. The role those players, maybe past their best, played in the dressing room cannot be underestimated.

The leadership role Fernandinho played within the squad to get us back on track earlier this season was a major reason we recovered and pushed on.It has been said around the club that Scott Carson, whilst not getting game time played a pivotal role within the squad this season.

The likes of Gundogan are invaluable within the dressing room, particularly as we now have a number of kids on the cusp of stepping up.
Next season he might play play less and less on the pitch but his influence, may be more valuable.

Great point well made John .
Something “fans” just don’t get is how driven Manchester City FC is under Pep and his back room coaching staff . The togetherness is unbelievable and the team and club never never give up . They don’t go shouting about it from the roof tops like the scouse cunts do relentlessly it’s installed into the fabric of everything City do . Touched on the Manchester bombing 5th anniversary on Sunday in another thread and loads will simply not get it because of geographics etc but many believe Pep bought into Manchester and it’s culture it’s steel and grit and determination after that horrific night . His wife and kids were in attendance that night and they had only been in Manchester a few months or so . Pep embraces Manchester and he encourages his players to do the same . Look what Zinchenko has been through this year and his passion and emotional outpouring for Manchester after the game on Sunday. No false narratives just passion and well-being, Gundo the same an ultimate professional quietly spoken but incredible footballer who offers a different dimension to the team .

Have posted this a number of times over the years

You can’t have enough guys like him in the dressing room
Winners. Guys who have won everything. Guys who have experienced tough times with injuries. Guys who have been around the club for a long time and know it inside out. Guys who the Academy boys look up to and want to emulate. Guys who the rest of the dressing room are happy to be around and are good friends. Guys you can trust in battle

All this comes under the phrase “experience” and it can’t be underestimated how important it is to have. For the young boys coming through, to the new signings who look to the experienced guys to help them settle, to the management and coaches who know what he brings and whom they trust

We have lost this with Fern going so it’s imperative we don’t lose more of the same with Gundog
