One of my favourite games. Like you say we won 3-2 and they were relegated but more importantly for us the win put us ahead of the rags in the league for the first time in years.
They brought thousands of fans that day and I reckon they were the loudest away support I ever saw at Maine Road. The roar when Gabbiadini scored was unbelievable

I was at that game, terrific atmosphere Gary Bennet who was on City’s books played for them, it was weird that season we seemed to play relegation threatened teams a few weeks on the trot, the other game I remember was v Derby County, Tony Coton was sent off, Niall Quinn went in goal and save the penalty off Dean Saunders, we won that game too
