Vincent to take over Burnley?

Postby Lev Bronstein » Wed May 25, 2022 4:32 pm

At least according to the BBC. Unless the new owners (who I'm sure have an impeccable human rights record) sort out the money, I can see a lot of the better players leaving and being replaced by poorer ones (if that's possible). Could be an impossible job

Don’t do it Vinny. Win something in Belgium first & then aim higher.

It will be an incredibly difficult job to get them promoted. In fact just to get them in the play offs would be a phenomenal job. They are flat broke and will need to offload probably 3/4 players. The likes of Pope, Tarkowski, Mee, Weghorst, Mcneill and possibly even others. And recruitment is never easy for a relegated club

It needs an experienced hand and someone familiar with the Championship. Mowbray for example

Read that their Yank owners call in a big slice of the loan that was took out if they were relegated which will not help. Not a job for Vinny

Our Vinnie is a clever and ambitious and no matter what success he may have, the Belgian league is not really a measure that will get him noticed.
Success in the England, even in the Championship will get him noticed.

The Dyche era has run it's course and the Dingles need a new direction. It would be an ideal project for Vinnie to reset and build a new paying set up. He has 1st hand how City have evolved over the years both in infrastructure and playing style.

It will be a challenge I think Vinnie would relish if he got the job.

I hope not - Vinny would have done sweet fuckall to deserve managing a premiership team and even if he does a good job at Burnley it will never justify managing the best team in the world .

Vieira has more experience than Vinny , and I would not want him either .

They’re losing a ton of players and their owner won’t be spending. I see them going down the same road as their neighbours, Blackburn. Poisoned chalice - as most sensible posters have pointed out.

He's no mug. He has to see them losing their best talent whilst also having less than no money. The fact that they are now Yank backed should tell him all he needs to know.

I'd only take Vieira if he agreed to do to Jordon Henderson what he did to that Everton fan

Other than it's proximity to Manchester, I don't see why he wanted this? They are beyond broke and due to have to pay a huge slice of the debt leveraged on them by the yanks. A challenge it certainly will be for him - which may be the answer.
Imagine Taylor HB will rock up there next and then he will come looking for some other talent on lian from us. Good luck mate you are going to need it
