Beating the dippers in the Community Shield would be a nice start.

Players like Walker and Stones need to have a think about who pays their wages. Stones started 12 Prem games this season - pathetic! If he’s injured at the start of next season and then goes away for a month and starts every England match we need to have a long think about fuckin him off. Walker is at the age now where he’s getting injuries and needs to think about having a rest instead of going away with some no marks.

Agree with this but would not be surprised to see the clamour to have Terence Trent Darby as the best fullback on the planet die down and for him not to go due to a mysterious injury. Can see this being a feature from the Heysel Murderers

Enjoy the ride in this incredible era .

Expectations means = a strong belief that something will happen or be the case. it has nothing to do with being self entitled

As has rightly been posted in this thread next season will be fragmented because of pure greed and corruption by FIFA and UEFA of which corrupt head officials are in prison . Us fans are just nobody’s in an increasingly corrupt and dangerous world . MCFC will aspire to deliver but it will be a very strange season with a hectic last couple of months imho. Will it be enjoyable with the effects of the long break ? Personally I think the mid table teams have a huge advantage keeping their players fresh with less international players playing in this ridiculous World Cup . The top clubs are going to have a longer player burn out period after Christmas with all the CL and PL games , a pretty fucking horrendous scenario I reckon !

The ramifications will be even longer-term than that. The PL season will finish on 8 May and CL final will be on 10 June in 2023. With Euro 24 kicking off on 14 June 2024 (thankfully a few days later than it has over the past few editions), there's going to be pressure on domestic leagues to wrap up in plenty of time for players to prepare for it, meaning that they'll likely be pushed forward a little bit.

Basically, some of our players will only have a single 6-week break at most in competitive football from 31 July 2022 (Charity Shield) to late May 2025.

Best Pep gets our squad up to the maximum then as we only had 17 outfield players last season .

Be interesting to see if the dippers players getting injuries that will force them to miss the international games, GPC was a master at this tactic, but the managers will have to be clever with the rotation of players, I previously posted that the likes of Stones and Ake who have poor records in terms of injuries, will have to keep themselves fit, also the need to strengthen the squad depth is essential. It’s alright Pep saying he only needs 17 first team players, but that philosophy nearly led to disaster at the end of the season. Ideally we need a squad of 22, Pep’s reluctance to use the younger players doesn’t help, I think it’s going to be a challenging season, FIFA are a fucking disgrace with their corrupt choice of World Cup venues.

Expectations

I expect us to score a lot of goals as usual and royally entertain us
I expect us to be in the top 2 of the PL
I expect us to have a right good go at the CL
I also expect the truncated season with the ridiculous timing of the World Cup to have a negative impact

Hopes

I hope we win at least one pot. The PL would suffice mind but two would be nice
I hope we break our CL hoodoo
I hope we score ten in a game which would be another PL first
I hope Pep signs a contract extension
I hope we see more integration of Academy players in games where we are comfortable as with the WC break it will be a long season and we may need them
I hope the dippers have a meltdown and the rags fade further into obscurity

Hate and more hate from the Carabao cup winners. Add a fullback a centre half. DM or two. Sit back and enjoy.

only 10? now that we've properly addressed our finishing issue, i seriously reckon we'll hit a team for at least a dozen in a game next season
