Me too. Just like Milner, he’s a salt of the earth lad. Rumours on Twitter that the improvement of our ticketing system was down to Raheem stepping in.

Also, the beer queues at HT. Thanks Raheem

Instrumental in us getting Haaland too.

In the past, we have had to replace retiring players and those like Sane and Torres etc that thought they were moving to better pastures.

Times have changed and I think we are going to have to get used to seeing a higher quality of players leaving us in order for us to bring in an even better quality of player to enable us to push even higher.

City now have the finances to compete in the transfer market at the highest level and our project has pushed us high enough to be a club that is attractive to the very top players.

Well summed up John - we need to kick on from the likes of Jesus and Sterling as they’re just not delivering the end product

Looks like Bazunu is making a permanent move to Southampton.... hopefully there is a buy back if he proves himself in the Prem

Apparently he's refusing to sign a new contract, he's after regular first team spot which obviously can't guarantee at this stage, not the club's fault, to ensure they don't lose out, they've made the right move by inserting buy back clause. If he makes it, he'll be ready to replace Ed. Obviously rather he stayed as our no2 gk, develop here and challenge Ed.

Always difficult with the talented kids. They want game time, we cannot guarantee and so an offer ro go to a prem club could work out for us in the longer term. Steffen dropped 2 major bollocks in last season's FA cup don't know if he has it in him to get over them but we will see. Perhaps we will look to go back for Bazunu wheni Steffens contract expires - no idea when that is though

If he’s refusing to sign a new contract and forcing a move, why would we buy him back? We didn’t with Sancho. Surely we just insert a high sell on clause?

I'd say do both, insert everything you can think of. He could become best gk in the world or end up in division 2. You never know with these kids

I’m not sure who’s advising him, but it smells of Etuhu. A proper young kid being advised to leave the top team in the division instead of signing a new contract and going out on loan. It’s very weird.

It's harder with keepers, he knows Ederson has got years and is instrumental in our system so he's relying on domestic cup games and that's it.
He's 20 and is already Ireland's Number 1 ahead of the dippers number 2 who looked very good in the Carabao Final.
He's had rave reviews all season at Portsmouth, I'd rather another loan at a higher level but we'd still have the problem number 2 scenario if that happened.

He’s obviously not confident in his own ability then if the first thing he wants to do is just get off without properly challenging Ed. If he’s good enough he’d play.

Not really about confidence, from what I can gather he just wants to play.
It does leave us with a problem as we've no real competition for Ed. And it showed last season. We need another keeper, no matter who it is, who is realistically capable of pushing Ed hard. He heeds it.

I reckon he's dead confident in his own ability.
He could be brilliant in training every day, he's not going to replace Ederson unless he has nightmare after nightmare and that ain't gonna happen.

You reckon if he’s performing better than Ed in training and when given his chances, that Pep would purposely choose not to play him?

The original point was that he could go on loan to someone in the Prem and sign a new deal with City. He’s getting first team football and building up his reputation at the same time. Doesn’t make sense to refuse a contract if he wants first team football - he could get that on loan.

Not surprised by this. Bazunu was playing in goal for Shamrock Rovers when he was 16 and he has said constantly that he wants to play every week.

He's got 10 caps for Ireland and he's still only 20. I'd hate to see him go to Southampton and not be their No1.

My kids have been asking me who Scott Carson is and why he does nothing at City. I say to them that he had a good career as a goalkeeper and is now semi retired.

So do you think that if they're both very good in training Pep would play him over Ederson.
Do you think if he plays great in the Carabao 3rd round he'll keep his place for the weekend.
Not a cat in hells chance he drops Ederson unless he consistently messes up in games.
