Sounds like another Pompey. Fire sale.
Our player sales and our rumored player sales resemble a fire sale also
Don't really think that's the case.
It's more like what John keeps saying, we've just gone to another level.
I don’t think it’s just that, some of the players leaving were offered a new contract and are choosing to leave us.
Our academy system is working just fine and doing the job it was designed to do.
During the season, our youth teams are winning the lot as is the first team.
Both City and the kids understand the situation. City have the best first team squad in the Prem and there is a conveyor belt of talent pushing on behind.
For a kid, it's a winn win situation, He gets well looked after, gets a great education that City pay for, he has the hope that if it all turns out right, he'll get to play for an amazing club in an amazing team with amazing players. He will understand that the chances of making the first team will be very slender but he can expect to earn a decent living elsewhere.
To get a first team place is one of the most difficult achievements in the game. A kid not only has to prove that he is a good player, he has to show he is potentially World class.
For the club, again it's a win win situation, we get to cherry pick the very best and still have a great reservoir of kids to sell on for a huge profit.
