You ever been there 64? Totally different weather patterns to UK. Storms are epic when they arrive, but are usually short-lived. And a great watch!

I get that there may be a bit of lightning but this is H&S gone wrong.
Most of UK lightning is "blanket" lightning that does NOT strike the ground.
US is mainly forked lightning and has a much greater chance of hitting the ground.
Me and a mate were at EPCOT centre in Florida and the heavens opened full storm, being brits we were going to trundle back to the hire car and got stopped by the feds from going. Anyway 10 minutes of standing under cover and an almighty bolt of lighting hit said car park.
30 mins later we were driving off and the ground was all but dry again, needless to say if we saw the weather turning, we went inside until it had blown through.
