Ps. Was that a good advertisement for the PL? If so, it’s all good for us.

Really weak at our right side defence, and Rodri didn’t look himself to cover if anybody went forward.

Great to see the fight back though, absolutely superb that we have the balls to fight until the end and get a draw from 2 goals down. Much better than wishing for a mullering of 5-1.

First goal came from his amazing feet finding a Newcastle player. He got a hand to the second but couldn't keep it out which seems to happen quite a bit.

He rarely saves a shot. Was the free kick a great shot or poor keeping? Poor for ne but if De Bruyne scoresr that we are all raving
Would have taken a poinr beforehand and defo at 3-1 so overall, we move on

no he was not .

Stones and Rodri were shocking , even towards the end Walker when moved back to his normal position had St Max under control and even got more involved going forward. Rodri gave the ball away umpteen times in midfield - a powerful team like City would have ripped us apart.

To summarise.

If they keep their first 11 fit, theyll take points from all the title challengers. On paper we should beat them, I still think we're yet to click with Haaland up front and we're probably still not match fit. Laporte and Dias should be first choice when both fit. Can't really see Arsenal maintaining it and spurs just not good enough. Chelsea are all over the place and vermins will fall short.

Alvarez needs a good run in the side, should have started, his pressing and enthusiasm is relentless

It was almost like we were deliberately pacing it and letting them wear out. On 60 minutes, just after Haaland hit the post and Trippier scored, their whole team seemed to expire.

Unfortunately we couldn't pull it off - if they hadn't broken it up so much I reckon we would've got the 4 or 5

I wouldn’t be unhappy if Ederson was replaced by Pope. Ederson as a straight goalkeeper is average. His strength lies in distribution and fearlessness, but a few times in this last year that has somehow not been as strong.

I like Ederson, don’t misunderstand me, but his save to shot ratio is not what you’d expect from the champions and best side in the country

Ederson kept it 1-0 when ASM was through from Stones’ fuck up. The defence was shocking today, not Ed’s fault.

Walker vs Zaha is a worry for next Saturday. I don’t see how Pep can play Walker inverted against Palace.

Pope was kept very , very busy today . Ed was not .

Pope wasted so much time with his theatrics , Ed doesn't waste time . The first goal came off a guy who actually fell over and it hit him. The third from a super free kick . The second he almost got his hand on . Can't really blame Ed for bad defensive work.

I agree. But how confident in Ederson are you when an attacker has a chance? I am not as confident as I should be given we have a guy who has won 3/4 Golden Gloves. And his inactivity in a lot of games is a difficult thing for goalkeepers to get to grips with. Doing nothing for half an hour and then to have to stay alert. That is a skill in itself. Ederson as the whole package is very good for us, but as a shot stopper he is average

Straight into advertising the Rag v Dipper game, accompanied by one of the best Stone’s tunes. He may have been a Rag fan but Stone Roses we’re made in Manchester, not Trafford.

Never have and never will i think the only one of our matches i have missed was first round (for us) Carabao cup game.

The whole back four looks shakey when we are put under pressure and I think that's a consequence of never having to do much defending. Cancelo is not and never will be a decent defender so that leaves us with three. Walker and Stones both look like they lack match sharpness so we struggled today.
