it is a Charity game. might not be a red nose night. However i am sure there will be lots of Red and Brown nosing going on before the flight home.
The main thing to learn is that we need to strengthen the squad in the coming week. Paper thin in defence and midfield.

Some on here take a charity match way too seriously.

Yes, I only saw the highlights, but it looked like a sort of charity friendly match to me. Both goalkeepers and also some others were commendably charitable.

Barca had 81k there against the mighty Rayo Vallecano. The attendance means nothing.

Think it does to be honest mate. 81k for the 1st league game - 10k more for a friendly against us.
That would never happen in reverse, even against the shit in the league we're practically sold out.

If it was United, Real, Bayern, Liverpool etc there would still have been an extra 10k fans there. Especially when you consider the cost of a ticket will likely have been less for a charity match than a league game.
Or do you think it’s just because of City that drew those extra 10k fans?

Barca played Arsenal in 2019 for the Joan Gamper trophy and there were 98,812 there.
When we played Barca in 2009 for the same trophy there was 94,123 there.
All the best!

This is the first charity game there post pandemic with full attendance allowed. Do you honestly think the attendance will be less next year, whoever they play?
What other stadiums in Europe hold over 90k?

There would have been the extra 10k for rags, RM, Bayern and dippers.
There wouldn't have been for Fulham, Real Betis, Hoffenheim and Crystal Palace.
We're on the top table now.
Incidentally you can get a ticket for most of their lower category league games for about 30 euros.

But who said prior to this match that we aren’t top table? The attendance of the match doesn’t prove to everyone we are.
We are because we’re one of the best teams in the world and we’re able to attract the best players.
