Also I can't get my head around the penalty shout going to var and it not being given. Really don't get that, clear as day penalty as you'll ever see.

Yes, they are a better team than a lot of people think. Not many will give us that much grief this season. They were much better than any of the teams that took points off us.

Brighton had 52% possession City 48 % you do not see that at the Etihad in most games do you

Trossard scored a hat trick against Scouse2. Akanji failed to close him down or stay with him and went to double up.

[quote="Sparklehorse"]Ed was terrible for large parts of the game, kept kicking into touch[/quote

Mixed bag. Shite for their goal and some of his kicking was Joe Hart level but made a couple of crucial saves and an assist. Whole defence looks out of sorts to me. May be because of constant changes but Dias is hit and miss, Akanji had a couple of dodgy moments against Trossard, Cancelo is Cancelo and Laporte doesn't look back to full match fitness yet. ]

I know I have said it so many times, but all good teams need a regular defence, you can rotate attacking players, but defence, never

Ed’s kicks into touch were caused by excellent Brighton pressure from their forwards. He didn’t have an out ball time after time. He did, however, create the first goal made another really good pass and also an excellent roll out. He also made two cracking saves.

3-1 is kind to us ; Brighton , who are a better side than the Bilge Rats, deserved something, because we allowed them to. I was reminded of a game long years ago against Bournemouth , must have been in the Cup , when they gave us loads of trouble and one of theirs . . .Bishop I think was his name , just about ran the entire game.

We were LAZY , INNACCURATE and COMPLACENT, which is NEVER acceptable. Mahrez offered NOTHING ; we made a BIG mistake in extending him and selling Jesus. It is time for Palmer to start, but we face questions with him and Foden, both of whom look better on the right.

Jack - busy and promising in the first half hour , disappeared after the break . . .I dunno , I think this season is make or break for Jack.

The way Baldie is using Alvarez puts him in danger of becoming another Firmino - effectively another "defensive forward" to chase tired centrebacks around in the last 15/20 minutes of a game - nstead of allowing his attacking gifts to flourish

Truly worrying signs ; The Brutes goals cannot paper over cracks forever ; all is not well. Arses need KICKING , including Peps.

Agree with this, and, would add we get away with this at home, however our away form is not good, and we will be punished for this unless something changes.

With Grealish, it’s obvious he needs to play himself into form. He’s a player that needs a run in the side for us to see the best of him. He was getting that and had MOTM performances and was then rested. Pep needs to realise some players need to continue playing when they’re in good form.

We have few worries needs addressing. It's a bigger worry for our rivals we have few issues yet sitting second in the league. We need a stable back four, too much tinkering and it's not helping Dias, in the bigger games it might bite us in the arse. Alvarez needs more game time, we'll need his pressing in bigger games, this was adamant against the vermins.

Agree we need a settled defence, however my biggest concern is our away form, we look flaky away, dropped seven points already, but I am sure the genius will sort it

You're right, how long does it take the bloke looking at the VAR screen to decide it might be a penno. About five seconds.

Sounds like the result was better than the performance.

And that's not a bad thing. Haaland ends his 'drought' haha

Weird game for me as players had moments of brilliance in average games.

Ederson an assist and yet probably his worst game all year.

Akanji been mint since signing but got rolled a couple of times yesterday including the build up to their goal.

Kev a fantastic goal and couple fo chances created yet got mugged off by Caiecdo quite a few times.

Mahrez some sublime skill yet bottled all his chances including a sitter that their keeper launched their counter from.

I’ll take the 3 goals and 3 points based off this to be honest.
Tracking back is overrated.
