Mendy could say, being found guilty doesn’t mean the accusations were true.

That is the problem. It is to easy to falsely accuse people. There is no deterrent, only upside.
An accusation sticks to the accused like glue, usually forever.
In the case of Mendy, if found guilty he does time, if found not guilty he walks but he has paid (and will continue paying) a heavy price for being accused.
IMO a trial like that should have consequences for both sides.
If accused is found guilty then they are punished but if found not guilty the accusers are punished.
That would put a stop a lot of the BS accusations that are happening at the moment.

Agreed. The women that have accused him should be put on trial and then they can go through the process of being found guilty or not guilty of lying.

That headline is probably actionable - there is supposed to be balanced reporting in these sitiations.https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-m ... r-63666378Mase wrote:CTID Hants wrote:Looks like his defence team are earning their buck, they are still going on their closing speech which started yesterday lunch time...... BBC led with the prosecutions closing argument in their headline yesterday. Pretty disgusting

And there it is, how do you ever recover your reputation from headlines like that even if found not guilty?
If found not guilty, it means the accusers could not prove their accusations, yet they walkaway unscathed. Ridiculous.
