Only Stones from City in starting eleven for England, good.

It might be good for us, but its hard on Phil who is far better than Sterling. And I an sure he is disappointed not to be starting.

England managers are not noted for using youth.

Good to see them belting out the anthem Tony Adams style.

Didn't Southgate used to play CB with him for England?

Britain didn't really see black people until 1950s. We had racial problems. Wouldn't pretend its perfect now but we've sure come a long way. America? Lived with black people for 300 years and still an absolute shambles.

That's what baffles me

Kneeling virtue signalling, Maguire hitting one out under no pressure. Situation normal

We won't win this cup with Sterling starting. He's alright against lesser nations. How is he ahead of Foden or Grealish is beyond me, his first touch is atrocious. Mason Mount is average at best.

Maguire, Kane, Shaw, Sterling, making basic mistakes USA much quicker. USA should be 1 goal up. England very pedestrian

Looking at our shape, we soon resort to a back five with two in front, reminds me of the defensive Italian teams

The match commentary we have to endure for this game on the English language US channel Fox is beyond over the top.

If some of you heard it would I'd say I can see why one would be understandably annoyed and think we're a bunch of "dumb Yanks" when it comes to the sport.

The overhyping and over-explaining of everything is really too much.

I 100% get that it's for a more general audience who don't follow the sport in Europe as much (MLS and USA Women's team, perhaps), but it's also why Ted Lasso is a poignant joke and contributing to the reaction to Jesse Marsch's "reactions" from Leeds fans.

TBF, I will say that I do think the other part of Ted Lasso that works and arguably Marsch, is that in some doses "enthusiasm" from those originating from "The States" can also be positive and effective.

The thing with even the best considered TV/radio "sports announcers" as we call them here is they also don't scream
and react to EVERYTHING which almost makes nothing exciting and ends up being simply irritating and a sign of trying too hard.
