England World Cup 2022 (Official)

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

How fucking childish. Saka goes off to ‘Significant contribution’ while Phil, who had a hand in all 3 goals, just gets substituted.

Fair do’s to England and Southgate.

In the quarters scoring plenty of goals. As good a chance to win it as we’ve had for years

Good result but we'll get our arse handed to us next week. Rashford back to shite, Maguire shite but brave for trying the pass? Foden had a good night, Bellingham impressed, needs to join City.

This morning’s delusional BBC headline comes straight from our Phil -

Jude Bellingham 'will be best midfielder in the world' - Phil Foden

As an outsider looking in:
France have the edge because Pickford, Maguire and Shaw are all error prone and will be targeted. Then there is Southgate who will probably have to change things in real time
Phil and Bellingham are a step above every other English player but that is unlikely to be enough to compensate for those weaknesses.

Cue media headlines blaming Phil and Walker come Sunday........

England will win. My-bap is nothing special, in the CL against City he has been pretty average. More concerned about Southgate's obsession with Henderson, Mcguire and Kane.

I would add Pickford and Shaw to that list.
With a decent manager I would favor England to win.
But not with Southgate running the show. He is a total plank.
Mistake 1: Southgate will start the error prone quartet of Pickford, Maguire, Shaw and Henderson.
Mistake 2: He will play ultra defensively, totally negating his strongest card, attack.
Mistake 3: Finally, he will have to adjust his tactics on the fly i.e. thrown on 7 attackers with no pattern of play. England will be picked of on the counter.

Maybe he has learnt from the Euros. I doubt it. He will revert to type. The lineup will tell the tale.

Would’ve preferred BBC, ITV are pretty wank on coverage.

Never knew that. What I do know is that Matterface and Dixon don’t like to name our players if they can help it.
