Imagine being a City player today.

You work hard, get pushed and kicked and the ref gives you nothing, turn the game around and take control, score a goal and take the lead,
THEN the ref blatantly shafts you - no VAR intervention to correct this - you are distracted and lose concentration as a result then MU score another
- again no VAR checks, in addition two City players were pushed in the box with no penalties given, Malicia is allowed to foul consistently - no yellow, etc...

What effect is this going to have on morale moving forward?
If you can be blatantly cheated in a match watched live by a huge global audience, what chance do you have?

Pep or the players should not be blamed in anyway for this result. They fought their way into a winning position after a bad start.
Then they were mugged and robbed.

Just like the UCL games against Liverpool and Spurs.

That makes the linesman an incompetent, corrupt OAP himself as well, then.

The apologetic "don't worry" gestures he was giving the surrounding Rag players truly sickened me.

They're all in cahoots.

We didn’t stop playing, we were in total control and I think we would have got a second. Then the officials gift those cunts a goal and then we were always going to struggle with the momentum against us.

Two Goals, the second was marginal offside - No VAR check either. IF there was it was damn quick , didn't see any lines drawn.

Thought the ball was played back to Rashford thus rendering it onside. My first though was it was offside but it wasn’t

Nope it was a forward pass and Rashford was marginally ahead. I at least expected a VAR line check, nothing.

As Beefy said, if the linesman's flag is raised, stop play.

Stupid ref started dishing out the bookings when the Rags went 2-1 up. Typical.

I may have missed something but did he not flag until the ball is in the back of the net. Also, Rashford doesn’t stop Akanji getting to the ball. He’s nowhere near it.

Rashford is between Akanji and the ball so he's obstructing him and also influencing Ederson's positioning. I agree though that he didn't flag until the ball went into the net then immediately remembered the pre-match briefing and put it down.

Rashford was between Akanji and the ball but I still don't think Akanji is getting anywhere near it. Definitely agree with the Ederson issue because he's setting himself as though Rashford is going to take the shot and the Penandes puts it in the other side. On that basis it should have been disallowed.

Until the day that referees can’t hide and aren’t being made to explain their decisions they’ll keep getting away with this.

Thursday night is a huge game now. And more of the same sit and counter crap football, and we're so susceptible to it.
Then there's good old VAR.

But just imagine the first post-match interview:
"Why did you make such an obviously incorrect decision?"
"Because my bosses briefed me before kick off on what result was required"

Nevergoing to happen...

If we were gonna start fucking about after going 1-0 up, how about a, double pivot of Rodri and Phillips. Alvarez for Haaland and maybe Lewis for Mahrez to help Walker. Do we even know how to shut up shop?

The offside goal controversy does tend to obscure another poor attacking performance. One shot on target in 2 1/2 games is obviously not good enough. It has been mentioned before that Haaland as charged the way we play, but even that is questionable Haaland made some superb runs but was not picked out by the midfield that is a worry. Spurs next, not exactly an easy game for us at the best of times. We should start to manage our expectations to avoid total disappointment

putting 11 defenders behind the ball doesn't stop Referees making such blatant and dubious decisions .

Pep said the same post-match RE: Haaland. He’s making the runs but his teammates aren’t finding him.

Headline in mailonline

How WAS this allowed?! Man United get a huge VAR helping hand as clearly-offside Marcus Rashford is deemed NOT to be interfering with play for the goal that turned the Manchester derby against City

If Spurs beat Arsenal we’re still there or there abouts. It hurt more today because of the clear corruption and it’s the Rags.

The thread the other month about “Who do you hate most, Rags or Liverpool” - I went with the murdering twats, but I’d like to change my answer please.

Not about putting 11 behind the ball but game management. Defend from the front. Alvarez has a better workrate than Haaland. For the second goal, Garnacho was up against Ake because Walker was caught forward. If he ventures forward, Lewis drops into right back. Second goal was poor defence. Nowt to do with officials.

I keep saying guys, manage our expectations we are not going to win anything this season, the writing is on the wall, do as I ask and avoid total disappointment we cannot win the league every year and Pep fucks up in the cups so enjoy what we have, reset next season

Said that as soon as VAR was brought in. Unless we hear the dialogue like in other spots it’s a closed shop between the existing referees and the broadcasters and lo and behold, a lot of contentious decisions go in the favour of media darlings
