Rico was meant to be going on tour with the youth team last summer and the day before they were flying out and after a final training session Pep called him in and said he was going to the USA with the 1st team where he flourished and the rest is history.

He's 2 years younger than Josh WE and Palmer yet he's overtaken them big style in the pecking order. There's a reason for that.

That still doesn’t answer why Josh hasn’t been given a chance instead of Gomez? Who is absolutely terrible. Using your example, Josh has been a regular on the tours as well. So “there’s a reason for that”.

My example was what he did on the tour as opposed to just being there.
He came on against Bayern Munich, went on a great run down the right and hit the post in a practical carbon copy of his EDS goal against Everton last season and his CL one this year. He's been getting more and more 1st team action and looks like he's been there for years. Josh will be a Championship player in the next year or so, guaranteed.

Possibly. And Gomez will be back in the Belgium league.

Pep Guardiola described Rico Lewis as "our little Philipp Lahm"

Don’t let NQDP read that !

I see that Josh tweeted yesterday that it was good to be playing again after injury - one would suppose that wasn’t a short period of time out so would explain why he’s not made the 1st team - although with Pep’s comments fair to say he thinks Ake on form is at the head of that left back queue behind Cancelo (who is surely more suited as a RB but is not as good as Walker and arguably Rico)

Another very solid game from Lewis. Was given some rough treatment from Spurs and that was clearly a concerted effort from them to tr6 and unsettle him.

It failed. Big time.

Because he just keep getting up, dusted himself down and carried on with his job in hand and at his tender years with the lack of experience he has that is no mean feat He is going to be a great guy for us. Next season Walker will be a bit part player

Magnificent up until one too many disruptor challenges hurt him and he had to back off. Then he was just accomplished and steady. What a talent we have on our hands.

Breath of fresh air, just like Foden when he came in. They’ll be the ups and the downs but we have to trust that a manager like Pep will develop him into a world class player.

Been fantastic. He's the type of person you feel a connection with. Someone that has the same passion as the fans. Like a Neil McNab, Paul Lake, Pablo Zabbaleta etc..

If he does not get some protection from the Ref and our team, he is going to have a short career.
It was a disgrace that the Ref allowed him to be targeted (by several of their players) but as the refs shaft us, it was a disgrace that our team did not sort out to the Spurs players early on.

Pep is spot on with his post match interview.

We'll see how good he is when he signs his £200k a week contract. Just ask Foden.

I have high hopes for him, hoping his boxing discipline will keep him focused
