Build up vs Blades Semi

Wasn't sure where to post this

Interesting strategy from a blade's fan

I hate to be pessimistic, but if Heckingbottom uses it, it could influence the game in thier favour

Pep confirms Ake out for tomorrow. I doubt he’d have played anyway. Pep didn’t give anything away on the seriousness of his injury. One more test needed for an assessment apparently. I’ll be surprised if he plays against Arsenal. We’re bound to rest a few after a very tiring night midweek. Less possession than usual so lots of running. Ederson Ake Grealish Haaland Bernardo out? Who else? I’m sure he’d love to rest Rodri but can he trust Phillips. Rico may start. Walker and Laporte too. Foden Alvarez Mahrez up top?

I reckon he'll mix and match it like he did against Burnley.
Ortega, Walker, Rico, Foden, Alvarez, Mahrez should all be nailed on for me with the only doubt being it would mean Rico playing left.
See who's fittest out of the rest. I'd prefer Rodri rested so if he doesn't trust Phillips then maybe Gundo there. I reckon Erling is dying to play as it would be his 1st time at Wembley and he's eyeing all the records.

Be surprised if Erling does not start. I'd try to rest Rodders though not sure it would be for Phillips. Foden and Mahrez to get minutes. Alvarez to replace Erling around 60 mins or HT if it goes well

Alvarez to play the full 90 for me. Save Erling for Arsenal

The fucking about with the team in the past semis bordered on criminal. The fans deserve better given the expense incurred going to London.so I hope he picks a strong team.

Pep's presser mentions the issues we had with rotation in previous years so let's hope he has learnt those lessons. As strong a starting line-up as possible then introduce changes gradually

Shame for them, but hopefully they get a chance to play at Wembley with us in the future.

Off topic but I’m surprised an announcement hasn’t been made about the rescheduling of the Leeds match. At the moment it’s set for Sunday 2pm with the match at the Bernabeu on the following Tuesday. Cant be right. Tickets still on sale on the OS.

Agreed note the fuck US over. That said, we already have west ham the previous Wednesday so Leeds coming forward a day whilst giving us an extra day before Madrid is then giving us one less day to prepare for Leeds after west ham. I'd rather it be this then postpone and have to fit them in later before possible fa cup or chumps league finals. We still have to schedule Brighton away which will be a fucking nightmare midweek

Brighton can only possibly be played 24th May, there are no other dates available.
