The fucking about with the team in the past semis bordered on criminal. The fans deserve better given the expense incurred going to London.so I hope he picks a strong team.

If only football was that straight forward. Could you see any reason for bringing in changes in those matches you refer to mate?

Also, re erling - I would think there's a gentleman's agreement that he gets to start the vast majority of games he chooses to, as long as he's fully fit... Once he knows why he'll be taken off early.
He wants to break all records, he wants to play at Wembley etc... and pep wants him fit and healthy.

Off topic but I’m surprised an announcement hasn’t been made about the rescheduling of the Leeds match. At the moment it’s set for Sunday 2pm with the match at the Bernabeu on the following Tuesday. Cant be right. Tickets still on sale on the OS.

Other countries associations help their own clubs out. Ours just fuck us over.

Agreed note the fuck US over. That said, we already have west ham the previous Wednesday so Leeds coming forward a day whilst giving us an extra day before Madrid is then giving us one less day to prepare for Leeds after west ham. I'd rather it be this then postpone and have to fit them in later before possible fa cup or chumps league finals. We still have to schedule Brighton away which will be a fucking nightmare midweek

Brighton can only possibly be played 24th May, there are no other dates available.

Agreed, which still gives us 3 league games in the final week. No mither if we are not still in the running for the league but that's a hard final week . Let's hope Brighton win on Sunday

I repeat Leeds fixture should be moved back a day. Gives us three days recovery for Leeds fixture and three before a huge match at the Bernabeu. I still think it will happen. Two days recovery with a plane journey is completely mad.

I have never understood the need to play reserves in a semi at Wembley. If memory serves that policy was a disaster against dippers, keeper fucked up 3-0;down at HT. what is the point of getting to a semi if you are going to hand it on a plate to the other team with your weak selection. Just don’t get it mate.

I also don't get it. Proper chance of another pot on the sideboard
I do get the need to balance the games ahead as well but for me, a cup semi is a special game that deserves full attention

If we play our second team and get beat and the Rags end up winning that’s two cups they’ll have won. We could end up with none. Play the best team!

In principle I see the point but it was Pep who said we were knackered and Arsenal’s a huge match. Foden and Mahrez are not second string nor are Walker Laporte and Rico. The problem is midfield

For me, what is the point of getting to a semi final only to fuck it up with shit team selection like we have in the past l

Only a Muppet would want us to play a second string team in an FA cup semi final .

You will always have a couple of dimwits who think its perfectly fine to play a second string team HD.

The only real change should be Haaland for Alvarez IMO , a world cup winner who would be first choice in any other team.

Play the best team of course.

But harry mentioned above about the keeper. That won't change, it will always be no. 2

I have a vague recollection of most of our back line being barely able to walk by the end of the season last year... I think he needed to rotate the team to try and prioritise both league and champs league.

And we were a bush hair away from it being the right move

And we know from Leicester second half that some of them can’t be trusted. Palmer, for example, deserves to be nowhere near a start.

The only player I would rest for this is Rodri. Risky I know but he's played an awful lot of football.

I would rest the lot! Arsenal on Wednesday is the big one, if we can't beat a weakened, promotion pre-occupied bunch of yorkies with our chorus line - so be it
Stefan Ortega;
Rico Lewis, Kyle Walker, Shea Charles, Sergio Gómez;
Máximo Perrone, Kalvin Phillips, Phil Foden;
Riyad Mahrez, Julián Álvarez (F/L), Cole Palmer:

Bench: Ederson, Reuben Dias, Aymeric Laporte, Rodri, İlkay Gündoğan, Kevin De Bruyne, Jack Grealish, Bernardo Silva, Erling Haaland.

City win 3-0

It's a cup semi. These are second in the league and are no mugs. We underestimate them at our peril

I think Pep could change his plans after tonight's result in the Smoke! Maybe the team will feel a bit less "exhausted" tomorrow ;)

Now that Ramadan is finished, I expect Mahrez to really come good. Time to unleash the Algerian!
