PL Games April 21/22/23

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Didn't expect that but will take it. Its 6 points dropped on the last 3 games, got to be demoralising.
We need to put another nail in that coffin Wednesday.

yep ^^^^^, as it stands all things are not equal. City appear to have the upper hand based on previous experience, current form and the way the fixture schedule is panning out. Brighton get a result tomorrow , do they ease up bit before the final ?

Title's done now.

I know we're due a result at the Etihad (Heck, we're due a result at home against you!) but it won't be this season. It won't be now.

I like that we gave it a bit of a shot this season, (I'd never have expected us to beat Spurs and ManUre in back to back games, for example) but the last 2 games have me questioning the team's commitment to the cause.

It's still all set up to be our biggest game since the 06 CL final on Wednesday but that kind of pressure will make our boys crack.

If you do go on to win the league, I hope it's part of a treble where you, iconically, smash your neighbours in the cup final 6-0

Arsenal have to come out and attack us now. And their defence is absolutely shite. So it should be good for us.

Defeatist mentality or defence mechanism?

You question your team’s commitment yet I think you do far worse in your first two paragraphs. I expected a ballsier attitude from you, to be honest, mate. We all know a lot can go wrong for both teams. A few injuries for us to selected players can change everything. There is a long way to go yet.

From our end complacency is the enemy. If we keep focus, we can do it, but we have always said that, even at ten points behind or whatever it was.

It’s fun this, isn’t it?

Any truth in the rumours camel gob is spouting about Artetta jumping ship to RM as anceloti is in the frame for the Brazil job?

Or is it all a load of bollox to get more listeners on his podcast?

9 minutes extra at Fulham. Is this a trend? Not enough for Leeds who go down 2-1.

Can you go into a bit more detail mate?

I think when City fans watched Arsenal in the past two seasons we could see what Arteta was building but I'm not sure your fans could.

I've stated here before that I think we will win the league by 5 points, but I'm not so sure about next season.

You must be very excited with how it's all tracking. One experienced signing next season will get you over the top I reckon.

No trend. Just an obvious pgmol directive to get it done so they can say it's the norm, after last night's 17 minutes injury time.

Yeah- I just can't see it now for us. Even if we do the currently unimaginable and go to the Etihad and win, it'd be just like us to balls up in a home game v Chelsea and away at St James'.

I know Arsenal fans are looking at your away game at Brighton (now midweek in the last week) as a game where City can drop points but that's slim pickings. Particularly when we aren't doing our own job

I very rarely listen to what Turdinand says. I tend to agree with his opinion that if ManUre end up with the league cup and a 3rd place finish, they've had a better season than us if we finish 2nd. The Real Madrid thing though- nah. He's plucked that out of thin air.

If anything, if we finish 5th next season, with no trophies, he's more likely to get sacked and go to Neverton

It's a strange one, Dazby. I'm very firmly of the thought that this is our chance, our one chance, for years to come. Every other team is strengthening. Can't even rule Spurs out of becoming direct rivals for Arsenal again very soon.

Building is all good, but we're at a very tentative stage as a club (on the pitch). We won't get results as good as we have against teams again (the London Derby record for example, is incredible) next season, and we could really be in for a hard slog.
