Do we fall over too easily

Do we fall over too easily

A mate in all seriousness feels we fall over too easily particularly in yesterdays game. Has he got a point? I thought we weren't that bad and we were kicked a fair few times and got nothing. Am i wearing blue tinted specs?

No mate. We just have players with the best first touch in the league so they're going to get fouled more.

Can't tell you the last time grealish went down and it wasn't a foul but try telling that to an oppo fan and see what they say !

Some of our players got booted to the moon and the ref gave them one yellow. Worst refereeing performance we’ve seen all season.

We move the ball so quick and our players are constantly moving that the slightest of touches will cause them to be off balance. But yesterday we were kicked to fuck and the referee did nothing.

If we were talking about the game as it was 10-15 years ago, I'd say yes. Nowadays, with VAR interventions for the tiniest thing, no. A foul is a foul, and going down draws the ref's attention to it, and gets the VAR replay, which leads to a decision about whether something is a legit foul or simulation.

The fact that we haven't featured in any 'top divers' stats/articles (as teams or individual players) in spite of consistently being among the most-fouled teams (although possession has a lot to do with that stat) shows we're not faking it.

It's also become a legit tactic in slowing down a game's tempo. Although I'm not in favour of it, that's what the powers-that-be have turned the game into.

Thanks for the replies guys. Echoed how how i view things. We all have a bias towards our team but i genuinely think we don't have too many theatrical players and the view others have is symptomatic of our success

Refer him to Richarlison.
Balotelli......that's a brilliant finish.

Not enough, we’re the most honest team in the league. Naive, almost.

The way we play, we do the most damage when we nip over a tackle and put the opponent on their back foot - there's literally zero incentive for our players to go down easily unless under the cosh and need a breather, which rarely if ever happens.
