Utd or Dippers for 4th?

Utd or Dippers for 4th?

Postby PaulieIrish » Wed May 03, 2023 10:25 pm

Lads,

Utd have 2 tricky fixtures ahead - away to Brighton and away to Hammers. Can see them losing to Brighton and potentially dropping points to Hammers. If that happens, it brings the dippers back into the frame for 4th place - 4 points back with 4 games to go. Granted, the pool have a tricky tie at home to Brentford this w/e and are not exactly on form, but the question is "who do you want to get into the CL - scum or dippers"?

There's no answers that makes you feel better, but who do you want to get it?

Personally, I think seeing Utd fail with Ten Hag would be worth seeing the dipper get the glory of winning the Arsene cup.

With out over thinking it....

Ten Hag is improving the rags, on the other hand Klipperty won't bounce back next season without a divine intrevention.

But Rags doing Thursday nights won't attract decent new players as much and also won't make the sale more desirable.

In short i cannot beleive I'm saying murderes in 4th spot.

There must be another permeation surely where neither make top 4????

Absolutely not arsed where they finish just as long as they end up Fa cup finalists and not winners.
Balotelli......that's a brilliant finish.

Funny replies; there’s no win-win here. It’s who we want to suffer the most.

I agree that stopping the TenHag momentum is most vital. Klopp and the dippers have a huge rebuild task ahead of them, although this also may have been their off-cycle on caffeine (allegedly) and next year they will full of energy again, so crippling them with no CL attraction might be a good thing.

I think I’m gonna be sick but I’d rather the rest scum closer to home get in than the scouse red scum.

Missing CL football will hurt liverpool who don’t often really go balls out in the window. Klopp is a momentum manager and resurrection of this season, followed by being able to bring in any Star power will see them strong again next season.

United on the owner hand since purple nose left have allowed themselves to think they are back like 4x a year. A 4th place finish and they will automatically think every donkey they buy next season is world class and go right back to where they have been again and again. It’s kind of funny actually.
Tracking back is overrated.

Let the pigeons fight over the crumbs from our table.

My answer is Brighton, by the way.

Rags have four point lead and two games in hand. You would imagine they will stumble over the line. Harry Maguire stumbling style.
But they are still very average. I believe they are just two points better off than this stage last season. Yet apparently Ten Hag is the messiah.

I think a tough CL group would be more damaging to the Dippers squad-wise than to the Rags next season: Klopp would go all-out with an aging squad, while the Rags seem to be happy with mediocrity and banking the group stage prize money. However, looking at their coefficients, both are guaranteed to be in Pot 2, and therefore could end up with pretty easy draws.

The rags will do it. And I'm OK with this. The dippers always seem to do well in the CL and it can galvanise them and help them in the CL. So if they aren't in it then that's a bonus. Plus their summer rebuild will be affected by not being in the CL.

The rags with the takeover will spend regardless. And the rags will come unstuck against the first decent side they face.

So unpalatable though it is, it's the rags for me

I think this is my thinking too. Liverpool fucked without champions league while rags will have money either way. Plus i fucking hate klopps antics so good riddance to him.

Nailed on for one or the other. Id rather it was Brighton or Villa but Villa shat themselves last weekend at the swamp. I m hoping scouse don't make europe at all as that would seiously cost them and Klopp would walk but i think our success would help scouse in that an FA cup win takes the europa cup lower down so they could end up 6th and still get in - haven't looked. Either way, both are still fucking streets behind us so fuck the pair of them

If rags get 9 points from their last 6 games dippers are fucked, it’s been mentioned dippers need CL more than rags for revenue, for that reason, through gritted teeth, I would sooner have rags in top four.

Knowing how corrupt pigmoil is, I expect Newcastle to be shafted and get a lot of bad decisions against them.
"Better for the league" would be the red shites to finish 3rd and 4th.

If I have to chose, then the rags.

Prefer utd for top 4, they are miles off where they need to be so less of a threat. Also, still not 100% convinced by ten haag.

But this may also be partly because they've looked nailed on for so long and I've accepted it...

Finally; I can't stand Liverpool!

Neither would be my choice but if I have to pick one it would be the rags and hope dippers slide further into the wilderness for a few years.

This is just like the who do you despise most thread.
So for me it's got to be dippers for 4th, I just cannot bring myself to favour the rags for anything.
In an ideal world, both would fuck up and Brighton would nick it, but that's not going to happen.
If we're talking about what I think will happen as opposed to what I wish would happen, rags will be fourth.
